I don't think its fair to judge a bull based on just two calves.... even more so them being twins and only wieghing 50 lbs at birth. Also do you care to explain what you mean by them being "very very moderate" but also being "just a tad bigger framed than [you] would like right now" ?

Great advice. Now is the time to send off some of those older cows.... I'm just not sure right now is the time to be investing in younger cows though. I guess we'll see how the market continues to pan out.

We are near Macomb, IL. My cousin recently sold his commerical cattle, so now it is primarily just my small herd of Herefords. We'll work on increasing numbers when I'm through with schooling. What do you guys have? Going by your profile picture I'd guess shorthorns. I'm not sure if you know...

Are you talking about Gabel's Gran Torino? I don't know why they would name him that because Colyers had a bull named Gran Torino that was champion at NWSS last year.

I don't know how much your heifer weighs but you also want to make sure you never inject more than 10cc in a single spot. I personally like the injectable better, it just takes a lot more labor input when you're working a lot of cows.

Is she purebred? Are you wanting a purebred calf? Who's she out of?

Yes He looks like he will definitely be one that will get better with time. Post some more pictures as an update later -  they will be neat to see. He should make a good county fair steer.
