Our first cutting was 216 bales on 30 acres. The bales are 3X3X6 and averaged 700#'s. The field is 75% grass, 25% alfalfa. We baled around 3000 bales this year. I didn't figure the hay because the first 60 bales I sold payed rent, mowing, tedding, raking, bailing, fuel, maintence. The $.67 figure includes free choice mineral. Sorry, I left that out.

What you're feeding your cows should be based on the cows BCS, environment, hay quality, etc. Every cow needs a certain energy level each day. I would test your hay and base the decision on feeding them on what the cows needs are. We try to save every penny we can. We are feeding the cows this...

We've used both. The Heifer Developer has less corn, more filler. Both are good rations.  I would base the one I use on your heifers particular needs. The grower only has like 540#'s of corn per ton. I don't think that's too much for any heifer. If you are in an area that it's cold, I would...
