    Opinions? Updated Pics

If it makes you feel better I've definitely seen a lot worse. Pictures are hard to tell. Looks a little sway back. You might have to get the end of the stick in his belly in the ring and get his back up. Looks like you need to work the hair more than anything.

    Favorite Breed of cattle

Started out with Maines, still have a couple but we have done well with shorthorns. We love their dispositions.

What do people like about fall?

I 'm not a cold weather fan, go figure I've lived in Colorado my whole life. There's a couple of things I like about fall. I hate flies with a passion so with the first couple of pretty hard frosts they are finally gone. Also with the cooler weather we don't have to put the cows in the cooler.

    Keepin white, white

We've shown white cattle for years. We use 1/2 ezall and 1/2 lemon dish soap from the grocery. We also use a bluing shampoo called Gold Nugget. It works really well. Best advice I have though is to keep stall/corral clean and brush a couple times a day and wash regularly.

    white shorthorn calving ease bull

We have a 4 yr old all white registered bull RR Tommy Boy. He's had some really nice calves. He's out of Sin City and KaBa. The calves birth weights have been very accommodating to the size of the cow. We've had a lot of success with getting blue roans too. Let me know if you are interested.

Funny Things Kids Say! Cattle Related!

When my son was young I was going through all our things and getting a pile of clothes, shoes etc. ready to take to the donation truck. We were getting ready to leave and my son asked it we were going to the "Good and Poor" to drop everything off! Everytime I see the Goodwill truck I smile :O)

    Manchild steer

We had a Manchild steer. Nice hair but he was a butt head. One of those that you just can't get to walk no matter what you tried.

    Keeping my steer on feed

If I were you I'd try and go to a CO-OP and get a good calf grower mixture. We have many more ingredients in ours than corn and oats. We have soybeans, cotton seed hulls, calf manna, calf grower, molasses, and I'm not sure what else my husband throws in there. The rule of thumb we operate off of...

    showing your own cattle?

Lots of people have made great observations and stated honest opinions on this topic. I can tell you that I was born and raised in the city. Moved to the country when my daughter was in 5th grade. We joined 4-H but she didn't start showing cattle till 7th grade. First heifer and steer were...

    Shorthorn Bull Calf...Opinions please

Personally I'd like to see him bigger boned if you were to keep him a bull. I think heavy bone structure as well as the other componets are important when your end result will be him carrying 2,000 plus pounds around on him and being able to mount and breed. We have a Sin City, KaBa bull we've...

I was in Austin over the weekend and it rained most of the time. They said they thought the last time they had rain was in May!

    Is he good enough???

You have a nice looking bull. I have to play devil's advocate though. Speaking for personal experience it's very difficult to market a bull. You have to have the money and the connections. If you have both, go for it!!!!

Pones- how to get rid of fast???

Dang, wish I would have know about the rolling pin trick a couple of months ago!!! Could have used it on one of our heifers. Will definitely keep it in mind if we are ever in that position again. We had a huge 1/2 angus 1/2 shorthorn heifer. Weighed 1390 in July born March of 08.
