Anyone send bulls there or buy bulls there? I've heard it is quite the place.

Some have almost non-existant udders until they get 2 weeks out, others start changing very early. I would wait and see how she does with a calf.

Sorry to hear about the trailer, mother nature can be a powerful force. Can you get salvage value out of it thru your farm or vehicle insurance? Sounds like it may be best to start over. Sorry.

Most in our breed take the necks pretty short. The best way I have found is to take it as short as the medium blades will go (or the big flat heads) about 3 weeks before the show. Then it grows out some and just needs a little touch up closer to show day. That is what someone taught me and it...

Your local co-op or feed mill can make suggestions for creep feed and a grower ration. I would suggest weaning him at 4 months and get him on the feed. If you can creep ahead of weaning, that will only help. Good luck.

It is only available thru a vet according to a rep.  So we called our vet, gave him the ordering info and he had it in about 2 days.

Our 4-H club did things like Betsy Bingo or Duck Drop to make money. Sell so many squares, put the animal in and where it poops, that person wins. Split the $$ 50/50. It was very popular when we did it.

I think collecting him is an option to keep open. After you see his first set of calves you will get a better idea of how good a bull he truly is. Some bulls really put their stamp on calves, others don't. Some look good and make their calves even better, some do the opposite. You never know...

Jill, What county are you in? Our neighboring county, Rooks, has their fair Aug 10-15, it is soooo late. 2 years ago, our kids were in school during their fair.

Way to go! A champion ribbon is never to be overlooked. Some people will never achieve that, regardless of the size of the show.
