    Disrespectful teacher

Something similar happened to my buddies and I while we were in high school.  Our ag teacher handled it.  It was a new basketball coach who wanted to run a bunch of us for missing 15 minutes of practice, in order to go take care of some FFA duties.  No big deal, we got right back to work on our...

    EZ all foamer ques. ?

My nozzle is 2 years old and still going strong.  I have a brass shutoff on the end of my hose, and my ezall nozzle stays on the shutoff always.  I rinse with it on there, I do everything with it on the valve.  I figure there's only so many times that stupid thing will screw onto the valve...

    pour on wormers

We've used Cydectin pour on and safeguard for several years, and recently switched to pour-on ivomec as a changeup.  It burned the fool out of several of our calves, including both of my kids' showsteers.  You can feel the burned skin where the ivomec ran down behind my daughter's steers...

    depth charge

Depth Charge smells good enough for me to eat for myself.  Our calves didn't care for it though, and readily gobbled up Full Tank while we were at OYE.  Evidently they didn't get the memo, that Depth Charge was the newest and greatest.  Whatever blows their skirt up, I guess. (clapping)

    parents

I have a 9 year old boy sleeping under my roof that could probably teach you a thing or two about work ethic.  He'll do all of your work, and be looking for more.  You now why?  Because he's been taught that hard work pays off.  Period, end of story. He writes that little motto under the brim of...

    showmanship awards

I think the kids enjoy buckles the most.  Ribbons and plaques just sit in the showbox, or a corner of their bedroom but a belt buckle will be used weekly, if not daily.  If you want to give the kids something they'll really like, give them something they can show off routinely.

Opinions of my kid's steer, please......

I've gotta come clean, the first set of pictures I posted of my son's steer were from October.  I fudged a bit. ::)  I had a pretty good idea the steer would fatten up easily, and he has.  Here is a picture of my boy's calf this last Monday at our county premium sale.  He was champion...

    Opinions on Monopoly Steers

The 4 or 5 Monopoly calves my dad has raised have all had terrific dispositions.  They're extremely gentle...... and pretty darn good to boot.  Deep bodied, soggy type calves who move like a cat and will lick the hair off your arms when you're petting on them.  My daughter has also been...

    politness-or need to be

Reminds me of a boss I had once.  He'd often tell people "Well, I could agree with you..... but then we'd both be wrong."  (lol)

    politness-or need to be

I think when most folks refer to the "cowboy logic" they have something ilke this quote in mind.  That's as intelligent a response as I've read in a long long time.  I'm glad I read it. Now in response to your question of "why do I always feel the need to be polite?"  Here's my take on it: I'm...

Proud dad (pictures) One year later

Well when Jackie was the police chief in Mangum, I gave him a black & tan coonhound.  Onene of my best friends is Bray Woodress, the new chief.  Bray had told me that Jackie was looking for a hound dog, and I just happened to have one I thought he'd like.  I got to know Tyler through Bray, Tyler...

Proud dad (pictures) One year later

This old world just keeps getting smaller.  I saw a picture of that heifer on Tyler's facebook page and asked him about her.  I didn't realize yall were related.  Nuts!!!  Congratulations on your kiddos doing well Wade.  Good luck with them in the future.  It looks like that's a fantastic first...

Fort Worth Stock Show Champion Xbred Selection Video.

The middleweight champ in the video was absolutely phenomenal.  I loved that calf when I saw him in class, and I loved him even more when they were selecting Breed champ.  He was an AWESOME steer, but the charlais calf was just too good to get around that day.  He was too good, and Jensen liked...
