    Rocky calves

I have a sunseeker heifer out of a commerical angus cow that is about a pretty profiling heifer that you wil find, but she needs some more thickness and power.  She is a tick taller than our other heifers and was thinking about breeding her to Rocky Balboa.  He looks to be a smaller made bull...

    Help? ringworm, fulvision

I think I am finally getting our ringworm under control.  I have been feeding the iodine granules that I got from my vet mixed in salt and adding that to our feed.  I also have been spraying the spots every few days with 7% iodine.  It seems to be heeling up.  From what I have been told that...

    One and Only

I have seen some nice Maximus heifers out of some nice angus cows.  They have had cows writen all over them from a very early age.  Plus you could get your baldy.  That is if you can get semen.

    Help? ringworm, fulvision

I don't know if fulvison is till being produced, but it is for horses so he is not suppose to give it to you for cattle.  Not saying that some vets won't prescibe it for cattle.  My vet prescirbed a granule iodine that I mix with salt and add it to their feed.  That and I have been spraying the...

    Ringworm

I am not for sure how long you feed it.  I wasn't able to talk to my vet real long and my wife picked it up so that is something I need to ask about.  I think the bag of the iodine granules is 20 grams I think and you are supposed to mix it with 130lbs of salt.  I have a small herd so I am going...

minimun age to show market steers

In our county in Ohio you have to be 8 years old and in the 3rd grade to show animals.  You can join 4-H as a Cloverbud at the age of 5.  As a 4-H advisor I would like to see our county set some kind of age limit to show the large animal species. I don't know what age is the right age because...

    calf vaccinations

I would recommend getting in touch of a local vet and ask him what vaccines you should be giving.  I am an advisor for a 4-H club and we had a vet come to one of our meetings and talk about the different types of vaccines and he handed out sheets on what types and when you should vaccinate each...

    What to flush to?

If I was going to put out the money for a flush I recommend something that has already worked well with your cow.

    Shedding/Clipping Dead Baby hair

We just got our show heifers about a week and a half ago.  We have a really nice Sunseeker out of a Strictly Business/Simmental cow.  She is a really stylish heifer and has a few white markings on her.  The rest of her is a brown color.  She has darker colored, almost black roots on her.  Our...
