    County-bred restricted shows?

Quite a few counties in East Texas have the county bred only rule.  I don't think it is as uncommon as some might think..even in TX.

The craziest thing you have seen at a cattle show

I've had fun reading these...so thought I'd add one.  We've seen a lot of crazy things at cattle shows but one of the funniest for our family came at the Houst Gilt Show two years ago. Houston definitely gets a crowd of city folks that like to look but not touch. Houston has added the waterless...

    Rotating steer...

The best way to start one getting used to the showstick is to work them initially in the trim chute.  They can't go anywhere and they can't swing side to side as you are experiencing.  I'd put him in the chute and work about 15-20 minutes per day, working him all over with the stick, even...

Been showing steers and heifers 6 years and never had one go off feed (even a young heifer with pneumonia).  We use a daily probiotic called Progest 30.  We also give VitaCharge (probios) daily, starting 5 days out from the show and daily while we are hauling and showing.  Not sure if this is...
