    Fuji?

I would say if they are heifers absolutely not, his sire Fu Man Chu is not even close to being heifer safe.  Fu Man Chu has always thrown a monster hip for us and pretty sure that would never make it out without taking them out of the side.  On 2nd calf and beyond he should be ok.  The common...

"Thoughts on Cattle in a Commercial Setting" by Ralph Larsen

Good article, it transcends breeds.  Don't necessarily agree with all of it, but he makes some very valid arguments about the importance of a good maternal backing; especially for those terminally bred steers and heifers.

All In One Vs. Here I Am

A friend is feeding this one and he is really good.  He is a Here I am out of an Eye Candy.  Love the power and soundness, he was worried that the Eye Candy in the pedigree would not allow him to get big enough, but he seems to be right on track.  He was sheared down to regrow hair.

    1107 lb. weaning weight

I just wonder what the inputs were to get one that big that fast, they can only convert so much.  Guessing it was a little more than 2 to 3 % of his bodyweight.

Keeping replacement hfrs out of first calf hfrs?

I have thought about this most of the day, I think keeping replacements out of first calf heifers in most instances is ideal.  1.  Greater chance for quicker genetic improvement.  2.  Most heifers are from lighter birthweight genetics and are designed for calving ease, which should be an...

    Cane Code for TKCC Classified

Cattlevisons has him, if you called or emailed I’m sure they’d help you out. His progeny pics on their website look good. He’s a hammer out of a driver, I’d say they probably just need to be in heat.

    Getcha some

Haven't used any, but from what I hear, he needs to be used on a cow with some frame, as he will knock them down some.  I really thought you'd see more of them with the price having been in the only can use for flushing range and people using him on their better cows.

CSCX Bandwagon...Is he safe for a second calf heifer?

I would generally say yes.  I have used Bandwagon's sire Optimus Prime on heifers with no issues.  Bandwagon has a good CED EPD and as long as the cow doesn't have some funky big stuff in her pedigree, I would say you should be fine.

    Concealed / Open Firearms Carry

I was not going to post on this as I have a different perspective than most.  I have worked in law enforcement for 25 years and I can honestly say that people that commit crimes are usually under disability and are not allowed to carry guns with or without a permit.  It is a rarity for the...

Really like that Simmi heifer. Showy, does she have any power to go with it?

    Walks Alone / BIM Sons

The Here I Am’s are getting it done. Put on a cow with some guts and they’re really good. The have decent dispositions too. This would be the year to use him as he has already had some trouble freezing. My guess is that next year his semen will double. They are a little funky looking just after...

Bull Recommendations & Opinions on Bull used

Probably need to know the maternal side of her pedigree to be able to make any type of informed recommendation, but Daddy's Money calves are generally pretty good either sex.  Don't see many as show steers, but we've raised a couple and they were good; especially on the cows that have some...

    Wynne in doubt

I have not seen him in person, but I am going to try him on at least one.  I talked to Wade about him quite a bit at the Ohio Beef Expo and he assures me he will keep or add belly and will keep the stoutness and has a lot better rib shape than any other clubby bull he has ever promoted.  Wade...

    Best Here I Am Son

Talked to Wade at the Ohio Beef Expo today, he said that Wynne in Doubt is probably a sounder/ better version of HIA and will add or keep belly and softness. Like the fact that he is Angus and linebred Full Flush, as the females should be decent in production too. I’m going to try some of him...

Poll Qustion - Top 10 Best Current Club Calf Bulls

AJ, most, but not all. There are a few clean bulls getting it done, made to order, 1 OAK, Hi Ho Silver, to name a few.  I think the consistency comes from breeding the terminal clubby bulls that are carriers to clean maternal bred females.  If you look at most of the good bulls that have...
