    Goats and Ringworm

I'm by no means an expert, but i think someone may be pulling your leg on the white goat deal. We have almost as many "white goats" as we do red and black cattle, but we still get an occasional case of ringworm. We even rotate pastures between cattle, Boers and horses and we still have the same...

    N/C.........Baby Boers!

Anyone who says they have goat proof fencing is lying! But at least the Boers are inclined to stay where the food is! And having cattle dogs that are obsessive about the stock being where it belongs is a help.  <rock>

Nice looking kids Frostback! I really like the looks of the doe in the first picture. Looks like you are off to a great start with your new project! (thumbsup)

    N/C.........Baby Boers!

We are almost done for this round of fifteen does to kid out, only four left to go! We have had several sets of twins, three sets of trips, and one set of quads so far. All of the kids born are sired by Austin or are out of his daughters and a junior sire we purchased last spring. Here is one of...

    N/C.........Baby Boers!

Thanks for the kind words! We usually only show breeding stock, but he is just to good to pass up. And he likes to show! Here is a pic of our herd sire Austin taken last April. He hit the scale at 306 this afternoon!

    N/C.........Baby Boers!

Around our place, its not just calving season, but also time for spring kidding! Here are some candids from the barn this week (the lighting leaves something to be desired). Photo 1 is a 3 week old son of our herdsire Austin and his dam is standing behind him in the pic. He is a weather prospect...

    Cattle management software

Not sure if it is because ours was purchased in 2005, but ours is a stand-alone system. Bought the software, set it up and started using it. We can't interface with our breed association (NALF), but that really hasn't been an issue for us to date. I love it and would recommend it to anyone in...

    breeding advice

If you decide to use Limi bulls on your Limi heifers, I would recommend looking at bulls out of programs like Magness, Thomas and Sons, and Etherton Farms. They have great Limi bulls that will give you a mainstream showring look that can compete and win, without sacrificing the the best...

    Spring born bull

He's a Lim-Flex (75 Angus/ 25 Limi)! The first pic is his dam, Boot Jack Paris, when she won WI State Fair Supreme Bred & Owned Female in 2011. She is a Mags Romeo daughter. The second pic is his sire, Boot Jack Maxum. He is a BR Midland son.

    Spring born bull

This is a March born bull calf we have been getting ready to show. He was reserve bull for his breed over this last weekend at the North Star Classic in North Dakota. Opinions and comments appreciated!

    Opinions on Heifer

Yes, she is a tank and very wide based for an Angus female! She has really bellied down and started to look  bred in the last couple of weeks. She will be headed to the North Star Classic, ND, in just a couple of weeks. She was middle of a very tough class at MN Beef Expo and my sister used her...

    BEST CALF???

So far, for us it would probably be my sister's Lim-Flex female. Her first calf is an awesome bull that should really make a splash as well.

    Limo heifer calf

She certainly looks a lot like her sire! She has just a touch extra leather in her front, but that is pretty critical of a really good Limi heifer. Congrats on a great purchase,  <beer>

    Opinions on Heifer

Thank You!. She is bred to SAV Brand name for early February. Any ideas for future matings would be appreciated also!

    Opinions on Heifer

Thank you! She is sired by our Angus herd bull, Boot Jack Maxum- sired by BR Midland and out of Meado-West Nadine, a TC Freedom daughter. Her dam is Boot Jack Dezy, sired by KCC Werner Wall Street and goes back to Hyline Right Time on the bottom side. She is taking her to MN Beef Expo this week...

    Charolais Heifer Calf...Opinions

Nice calf. Seems like it should have all the pedigree you could ask for in a char right now! Can you post a pic of the Montezuma daughter? My sister bred her Char cow to him for spring, so I am curious what the concensus is on his calves is.
