When Should I start Winning Fill?

Full Tank is similar in that it is just a filler. It tanks them up, but doesn't really help put finish or cover on an animal. Full Tank is a pellet and for whatever reason, our cattle like it better. We just mix it in with their daily ration. How much just depends on the animal- overall size and...

When Should I start Winning Fill?

I have heard that  a lot of cattle will not eat it if it is older and to keep an eye on the dates on bags. If it doen't work, maybe try a new bag.  Like I said, our cattle have never liked the stuff, no matter how fresh it was, so my experience is limited in this.

When Should I start Winning Fill?

I would suggest at least testing it out sometime soon. You may find he doesn't like it at all or it doesn't give you the tanked up look you are after. You don't want to find out a week before the show that it is not going to work and have to scramble for an alternative. I'm sure there are plenty...

    NBAR Hamely S913

Anybody use this bull? I realize he has produced some winners, but his growth number are not impressive. Just wondering if they do grow outside the show string. Thanks in advance for any replies!

Why won't my photos load to the classifieds properly. One loads, but it is almost unrecognizable. Never had this problem before! >:(

Rate of gain question for market steers

Corn oil is Cheap!!!! It is an inexpensive way to put on finish in the last couple of months. That's not to say you don't have to have a good ration to go with it, but it is a quick and cheap top dress. Does he show more Angus influence or Hereford? This may effect the way you have to plan out...

Thanks Frostback. I figured you would be one to get a kick out of these little guys!

    N/C.......Fall Goat Kids

And here are some group shots all taken today. I would love to have pics of all at once, but we call them hooved monkies for a reason. They are just starting to run and jump and play a lot, so standing still is a relative term. And by the way, anyone who says they have goat proof fences was...

    herd management software

I would guess that yes it is an upgrade. We started using it over 5 years ago, so I'm sure there is a newer version. Ours is not a "hosted" program. Just software you buy, install on you computer(s) and use, so it was only the one time purchase price for us. Not sure how much we paid, I might be...

    herd management software

Yes! We have used it for about 5 years and love it. The major drawback I see is it does not have a section for steers like it does for bulls, cows, and  calves. For us, this is not really an issue because we usually only have one show steer or two on the place past weaning, so we inventory them...

    LTB: Show Supplies. MI

Not sure if it helps since we are in NW Wisconsin, but we have a Sullivan's dolly show box (diamond plate skin) and a 7' hybrid fitting chute we are looking to get rid of. Both are in good shape and about 5 years old, we just need a bigger box and an 8' chute (my big bulls do not fit in the 7'...

MN State Fair a no adhesive show???

I had heard more than a couple of times over the last week or so that next year, the Minnesota State Fair will be an adhesive free beef show. The reasoning was not a fairness issue, but that the city will not allow the chemicals to enter the water supply, so to continue to have the show, no...

    World Beef Expo

Well, we are home from the show and had a great time. Just wondering how everyone did. I recognized some fellow planeteers being announced with winners over the past couple of days, so here is your opening for a little shameless self- promotion! ;) I also wanted to say congrats to the guys from...

Any good material for new 4-H members

The resource books put out by the University of Ohio are great. Just go to  http://estore.osu-extension.org/productdetails.cfm?sku=117R. There is not a ton of information on the site about the books, but anyone who has turned the pages of one will likely say they are great for junior members...

    Inducing labor................on a goat

I've heard it both ways about which parent has the greatest impact on kid numbers. I tend to think it is a combination of genetics, buck potency, doe heath and general care. We had a good green summer here, but the mill mix we were using just did not cut it. The does were in good flesh, but...
