    Shorthorn bull pictures

I know the bull you speak of very well. He is the Bonanza 103U bull that our friends the Moore's are using. I think his calves are great and the (Joker bull ?) that you have out of him for sale looks great? I only hope that if I buy one of these bulls that I can expect the same result? ...

    Shorthorn bull pictures

First off let me say that I think that we need more bulls like these in the shorthorn breed. However, as I looked the first two up ( 33X and 65X) in the ASA data base I noticed that they each had over a 104 lb actual BW. I know that it has been discussed on here many times that because of the...

    Shorthorn sire CCS Shoshone.

None of the cows we bred trace back to Frontline, but we just had a linebed Frontline 1st calf heifer calve to Ar Su Lu Osage. Solid red bull , polled, 75 lbs at birth. I am excited. As far as daughters we probably have 10-12 out of the 40 cows in our herd. We are pretty much breeding anything...

    Shorthorn sire CCS Shoshone.

Here is an attachment with a picture at the bottom of typical Frontline/ Shoshone offspring. Red, sound, easy keeping, and good.

    Shorthorn sire CCS Shoshone.

We owned the K-Kim Frontline 07M bull, and he was in my opinion the greatest sire that we have used in my lifetime. We bought him at the top of the K-Kim spring bull sale in 2003. Kevin used a lot of CCS Shoshone and absolutely loved the calves. To my knowledge he is really the only one that...

    renting pasture

There are two reasons pasture rent is cheap here. 1. It cant be farmed or it would be, and 2. No one has cows anymore so there is pasture to rent.

    renting pasture

What it is worth depends on a lot of factors. How much of that 60 is grass, trees, weeds, etc. Can you access all of the pasture by truck or is it to rough? Is there a corral for loading and unloading cattle? I would consider all of these things before I offered anything, but in central Illinois...

    Jungels-Durhams for Denver

I do want to say that he was very impressed with the quality, and stated that not many breeders could make it to Denver with 50 bulls that good. However, performance was a question in his mind, but Derek sells them so he must know what his customers want.

    Jungels-Durhams for Denver

My brother called me Saturday to discuss the bulls. He said Lot 5, 6, and 18 were his picks worth the money. Then he told me some of the bulls framed 4.3 to 4.9. That is just to small for us, maybe not for people with 7 -8 frame hard doing cows. But to small for us.

    old horned shorthorn bulls semen

Finally found a picture of 68' Par Cherry 71' 2.  Sorry wish it was better quality. Sue you were right. Shorthorn Country late 70's 1/2 page ad. That is quite a memory.

    old horned shorthorn bulls semen

Yes that is a true story, but I believe it was both of my grandparents not just grandpa. It was a lot more difficult to get your American Degree in those days. Today as long as you meet the Money and Hour requirements you are in.  There are many stories on my grandpa Buck just like that, he was...

    old horned shorthorn bulls semen

Was the magazine the Shorthorn Country or perhaps one of our late 70's production sale catalogs (Wise Investment Production Sale)? My dad is looking but can't seem to remember where it would be.

    old horned shorthorn bulls semen

Looking for pictures. Talked more with my dad. He was homozygous polled,  6 frame, dark roan, and sired great females. He did comment however, that even though he had a 10 CE and -4.0 BW his calves were not super small at birth more like 75 to 85 pounds. He said the best part of this bull was...

    old horned shorthorn bulls semen

My father (John Wise) and Ralph Pope owned a Par Defender grandson '68 PAR CHERRY '71 2 . We still have semen in the tank on him. Look him up on the ASA website he was one of the more popular bulls of this breeding and has over 130 registered progeny. As the story goes my dad purchased this bull...

NAILE Open Shorthorn Show - a couple interesting facts.

Doc you have an excellent point! Who has the time, man power, and money to compete with Sullivans? I mean that in no disrespect. But what I can't understand is all the money that people are spending to stand in a picture with a purple banner. At some point in time these cattle need to pay for...

Thoughts on Pro Livestock Marketing Website

I noticed the website icon while I was on SP last week, so I called the guy up and posted a few animals for sale. For those grain producers out there it reminds me a lot if tractorhouse only for livestock. I like it because it could be a one stop shop for a buyers needs. What does everyone else...

    Shorty Bulls

We have used Osage for three years now with great success.  He is a definite calving ease bull that stamps them all out the same. His daughters are moderate, easy keeping and have nice udders. I have reccommended him to many. However, this is the first set of his daughters we have calved out, so...

    Shorty Bulls

I would say the majority of the calving ease comes from castlerock, however, most of our Urlacher's come in with BW in the high 70's low 80's and to date we have not pulled one. I was thinking of using him on some second calving Ar Su Lu Osage daughters. Maybe that would be a little more safe...
