    pour on shedding hair

any time i pour calves that are going to be shown in a somewhat short amount of time, i always pour, let i sit a day or at least over night then rinse it out the next morning, then soap it out really good that night. some wormers can "burn" hair off where it is left on too long

    Winter Hair Care Tips?

What i did when i showed was rinse when a day got warm enough to do it, then the other days i would spray him kleen sheen and just blow and blow and blow. keeps the skin and hair clean and moisturized and helps get rid of the dead skin the accumulates.

    Winter Hair Care Tips?

How harsh are your winters? The winter regimen for here in Wisconsin i would imagine is way different than down in OK or TX. Even more so if you dont have a heated show barn.

    clubby bull to improve disposition?

all of my dirty hairy's have been puppy dogs and i've heard the same from others. also i dont know when you start breaking but i find if you start working with calves when they are like 2-3 months old the are a little more mellow and easier to break.

Mats or NO Mats for your trailer?

we usually  would only have enough calves to ride in the front part of the trailer so we would bed that heavy then put tack in the back half. also if you arent dealing with big bred heifers or stout fat steers you can use the door in the gate. the more comfortable you can make the calves the...

    american royal

that kind of stuff happens often with those guys. Stierwalts steer that won NAILE a couple years back was a skinny 1500 calf from arkansas. thats the beauty of getting to go through 1000's of calves a year and being able to wait to see the green ones start putting on weight. and of course being...

    Minnesota Beef Expo

yes you can watch people fit. just walk back into the barn and find some people who look like they know what they are doing and ask them if they mind you standing around watching because you are trying to learn. you might get the person who says no but most wont mind as long as you arent in the...

    leg builder

with anything char influenced or even the odd colored shorthorn i find it best to try to save their own hair from when you clip them at home. just stick it in a bag then you have the perfect color matched building material.

    leg builder

never used graphite before, but ive never had a hard time taking twine out. just gotta be sure you soak the living bejesus out of it with whatever adhesive remover you are using. then it usually just would come off in nice chunks. twine is fun to use but it is easy to get carried away and have...

    Flux Capacitor

depends on the age of the calf, the amount of hair, the time of year, etc, but i would say it cuts blower time by at least 30-40%. another huge plus, in my opinion, is that the force of the extra blower is much better at getting the hair trained and also getting the dead skin and other crud up...

    Flux Capacitor

the twin blower setup is the biggest time saver in showing. i have a hard time going back to using a single blower after using the double blower, but i have bigger hands and dont have a problem manipulating the larger hose.
