Skinning works GREAT, I like to put ddg on the head navel area, and butt of the calf, seems to get the cow licking as good as anything.

Helped a neighbor do a C-section on Northern Improvement X Maximus,  around 115.I have seen some bigguns out of him, but they are good  I agree Chap,  tomcats can have big shoulders you know!! 

I THINK Chap is saying that it's only one shot of calving ease.  I used him on some wet 2's, Did not look like a calving ease pedigree to me. 

I thought the Res. was from Jacob Tusa and Kirk Roecker.

Maybe the DOC that Wade, Russ and now someone else owns???? He makes 'em stout, soft, chunky.... use with CAUTION on hfrs.  I use him on wet 2's. 

He bred different than I expected, bigger,  nice calves, pretty averave, BUT  if you need semen on him I will sell some REAL CHEAP....

JLR, Have you found the problem?  Powers,   Are you feeding 4.5 lbs of wet, or dry DDG's? 

How do you like your Encore calves so far, have you used him in the past?

From my 92 year old Grandpa...... Hotter than a ten cent...can't say that one Colder than a witch's .....can't say that one either Those who have must lose....those who don't can't.

My Grandpa was telling me that something similar to that was happening to him,calves that did not seem to know what they are doing and no will to live. He said he was feeding cheap mineral.  Switched mineral and  he force fed vitamin packs right in the feed, It took care of the problem right...

The Echo calves have been big boned, big hipped, nice. Very consistant.  We have a bunch of daughters out of him, I actually like the Recoil hfrs. better, softer.  Echo makes 'em stouter, Recoils are smaller at birth.

The sulfur should not be a problem at all at only 4.5 lbs.  You USUALLY will not get in trouble with sulfur, unless they back flus and put syrup with the distillers grains, Usually the problems occur when feeding alot of syrup that has high levels of sulfer. I don't understand the reasoning of...
