But.....How old are the steers when they are harvested?  A GOOD feedlot steer should be dead at 13-14 months of age, hanging a choice carcass. So many times the steers are harvested at 20 plus months of age, and still don't hang a choice carcass!

Dream On- I still think that he did as much for the breed as any bull lately, IMO.  He left many great sons and the females seem to  be doing well. On cloning- Say a cloned market hfr. or steer won a terminal show, would that calf be killed and put into the consumers market?  Did I miss this...

Good luck, mine came real small and early, but one, went over 5 days, 100+ pound bull calf, he lived for a couple hours.

I would not call him an easy calving bull, I had to help almost half of them. The Morgans Directions came right out. Not much diffence in size, more so how the calves are designed. I liked the MD calves better, had more of a look to them.
