I do have to agree with that. I do know who your talking about and if heard, so dont quote me, but 12 were returned last year as nonbreeders. However, the majority of the heifers shown, by other breeders, are not that way.

We show several heifers every year and every one of them goes back into our herd. To me there is no point in showing a heifer if you arent going to use her to produce "show quality" offspring. If thats the case then you should be showing steers.

I would have to agree with Dr Who, has always worked on about anything i have used him on. I wouldn't hesitate to use Ali either, throws a lot of style. However, have to go back to my roots and tell you to add some color to this one. DV is an old time fav or any of the DV offspring on black cows...

do agree with doublestuff, however you do need to add a little morning and night to get them to venture over to the bunk, and change any old feed out ever other day or so.

i have been told that you feed wheat at the same rate as you would feed oats. we ran out of oats and had to use wheat instead and the cattle absolutly went nuts over it, ate 5lbs per head more than they did when i had oats in it.

i do know of several guys around me that induce some of the bigger bw calves on their due date, the biggest problem they run into is retained plasentas. you have to know for sure that the cow is due on that date and none other though.
