    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

XBAR,  Just exactly where did you see firewater calves that had "the guts sucked out of them"?  I want to see them in the flesh.  Having seen plenty of pencil gutted cattle in the 1980's that is not how I would describe Firewater calves to say the least-  unless they didn't have much to eat in...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

I found Chisum on the Alta Beef U.S. website along with Sparrows Kingston: http://search.altabeef.com/Search/Breed/15  Chisum has been sold in semen packages to Australia so I think he can be exported to the U. S. .  The real problem is that most cutting edge bulls in Canada are sold in semen...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

Is the bull she is bred to SCC Prince 127B?  If so then she is bred to a performance spread bull not a dedicated heifer bull.  If the Schmidt's ares saying he is calving good on heifers with  a +1.6 BWT EPD and a +102 Yearling Wt EPD I would tend agree with them as they know the bull.  This...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

Since she will no longer be a heifer when you breed her  I wouldn't be so concerned avout calving ease.  I would look at is working on similar breeding in a show contex and Kayr and PCC both run very similar breeding to what your heifer is.  Both these operations have good show sucess in the...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

Your heifer ha-s some of the best calving ease show genetics going right now.  Her sire KAYR Patent 748Bis -2.1 on BWT EPD and around 81 for yearling weight on the Canadian Charolais EPDs.  His EPDs are very similar to KCM Prowlers. Her own AICA EPDs and her sire don't mean much because KAYR...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

Zeal is the best negative Birth Weight EPD sire for confirmation i have seen for consistency and confirmation.  He isn't as easy calving as many extreme calving ease bulls. He does put quality calves on the ground and the calves are not going to be automatic culls come fall time  I believe he is...

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

I actually like the heifers out of Firewater better than his bull calves despite the negative milk EPD.  I think you have to watch the kind of cow you use Firewater on.  I would like to see more performance out of Firewater calves sincet hey can be  harder to sell to commercial bull buyers.

    Outsider vs. Firewater vs. Turton

I would like to know what this female is (pedigree, production record etc.) and where you want to take her before talking about bull recommendations.  I don't think Outsider warrants a comparison to Firewater or Turton yet since they only have registered 93 calves out of  him yet. CML Diablo is...

%Sim bull to soften & add frame

The cow has plenty of influence on the size and growth rate of the calf she produces and it starts before thr calf is born.  A small cow has less nutrients to supply her unborn calf and that means her calf will have less oppurtunity to develop than if the cow was bigger.  Then this light birth...

%Sim bull to soften & add frame

Back to the subject at hand:T I would consider using the Rust Mountain Bull RUST BREAKTHROUGH 4043. For a 50% Simmental Bull he has plenty of power.  The ting to remember is that frame with out power or perfomance means...

    Red Factor Charolais bull

If the ccow does not show any white particularly not above the belly line I don't think you have much to worry about. fired Up is solid colored and isn't related to some the known red bulls that throw white.  By the way to those looking at this post here is a picture of fired up...

    Red Factor Charolais bull

It means that he is homzygous for the non diluter gene and he will only put out red carrier calves or darker red calves(homozygous) such as himself.  All charolais are red except for some black charolais that can either be hetro zygous black or homo black.  The diluter gene makes them white if...

Need info on M6 Bells & Whistles Charolais Bull

Freddy, M6 Bells and Whistles is a performance spread bull and like the other M6 cattle do that they are advertised to do.  If LT cattle work for you then no reason exists this guy will not work for you.  This bull has plenty of milk so I would watch it is heavy milking is a problem.  He is...

Best red Simmental bulls for AI

The Bonchuk's had a group of yearling bulls in their 217 bull sale and a few of the Fleck influenced bulls did have a blaze on their foreheads so we will put some white out if the cow shows it.

Best red Simmental bulls for AI

The calves I saw were out of performance Fleck influenced females.  He was used on these females for calving ease and see what kind of calves this small light birth weight  bull would produce.  The breeders that used him like his consistency on birth weight and other traits.  He seems to be...

Best red Simmental bulls for AI

The main thijg to keep in mind here is that we know very little about this heifer besides she is small; about the OPs management capabilities we know nothing.  I wany a bull in this case thaat is a specialist heifer bull with decent growth numbers (Both EPDs and own perfomance)  My choice here...

Some of he bulls suggested here are all over the map for birth weight. Just how easy claving do you want? What frmae score you you want? Mark

    Replacement making Simmi bull

It looks like you have narrowed down what you wan to use.  The only other bull I could suggest from genex is TNT Tanker.  some of the blaze faced bulls definately are worth looking at.  Uno mas is a heifer bull and as such you will leave some performance on the table relative to most of the...

    Replacement making Simmi bull

I want a bull that will give you good replacement heifers and growthy steers. So growth counts here.  Bouchard livestock has a couple of  bulls called value added bulls where if you buy more than 30 units it is $ 20.00 a unit. Since they are cows I would be looking at MLC Mr Justice W744 or TNT...

    New Donor Cows

Since I don't know the EPDs or the type of calves out or what specific bulls were used here.  It is hard to be really specific.  I don't want to give up any performance or power they have to get more maternal or growth if needed.  I am thinking of using bulls with a record of doing well on SAV...
