    Bismarck Female - Flush Ideas

The Angus power bulls such as vermillion dateline, Young Dale Xcalibur and Unanimous all good choices.  Is Plattemere Weigh Up a ame we can add to this list?  Given that you want more frame and she is easy keeping this might be viable. Why restrict yourself to one flush How about differrent...

Interesting genetics in Agribition Shorthorn Sale

Why no performance data on ANY of the cattle on offer?  If you want commercial acceptance this should be a no brainer.

    Angus Herd Sire Progression

I would like to see if he can improve the front ends on Fleckvieh cows.  I think he would work well on either limo or fleck cows to produce angus influenced genetics.  What do the local limo and simmy breeder think of him?  would they think he is worth using?

    Angus Herd Sire Progression

Have any pitcures on how he does on Limo ans Simmy cows?  I was thinking he could help the front ends of some fleck influence cows and produce some outcross simangus.  I also think he could put some guts in some Limo bloodlines.

    Breeding my Hereford/Maine Anjou heifer

No breed available except a Hays Converter can be guranteed to give you a black whitefaced calf.  Hays Converters aren't show cattle and I havent seen one available in years on AI.  I have been thinking about this one.  The only real choices are simangus or simmy bulls: Look at these bulls: W/C...

    Breeding my Hereford/Maine Anjou heifer

The maine cross cow used with a Charolais bull in the 1980's was a common cross in Alberta.  Out od red bulls you get a buckskin and out of blacks you get silvers and some buckskins from the red carriers.  Herford markings that hols on through 7/8s were common when graded up on purebred hereford...

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

The reason why Jack Dempsey was so well regarded was in the day of the long tall race horse type preferred in the ring he was one of the few bulls that did anythng else bedides win ribbins.  We do things dufferently today and you can get comparible performance with much less birth weight.

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

Roxy's Jack Dempsey brings back memories.  To my mind he was an improved Poker King Jr with more guts and muscle.  He is similar in his impact on the breed to Abricot's on the Simmental breed.  His descendants from 2006 have dominated the show ring in Canada. To give you an idea of how big and...

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

The firepower bull has some possiblities.  The other bulls we have been talking about are all owned by Thomas ranch or they have apiece of the bull.  This includes the DCR Mr. Substance bull. I would call them up and talk about what would work best for you.  I also thought of Diablo but also...

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

Keep us informed a a BOSS show bull of the year with a -8.0 BWT EPD and +95 on yearling seems too good to be true.  I hope it is.  It would rewrite what the goto bulls are in the industry.

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

I like her. The use of a firewater son (or firewater himself) like fire power would definitely thicken her up and the calf would be marketable.  I would like to have better EPDs here in eeither Canada or the United States in a case a bull results.  Since she already has freedom in her I would...

    Kingfield Abricot X Purebred Shorthorn

I remember Abricot when he was in stud at Western Breeders in Balzac.  A very tall and rangy bull he could have been  mistaken for an Ayrshire.  He put out big tall females with plenty of milk and sons with lots of frame-popular at the time.  The thing that I remember most is that bull was next...

Best Charolais Bull to Add Depth

Plenty of bulls can add depth and power.  You ned to narrow things down a bit.  The contentional answer is TR Firewater here. What is this cows breeding?  What needs improving?  performance? What are you hopoing to get heifers or bulls? How important is the showring in this? How important is...

    low input smokies in Nebraska?

it isn't just areas that have cold winters that do forage based feedlot finishing.  In arid areas like the Central Coast of California also follow this strategy only in reverse.  The grass come in the winter not the summer.  Range and pasture is never sufficient to finish an animal to even to...
