    Preferred Preg Check Method?

DL, I get your point, but I would think $100 an hour or whatever astranomical fee I must pay him would be enough to make sure he comes whenever needed.

    Is it possible?

no it's dominant.  it's a bear to breed off a white face if that's your intention.

    Buyers and Sellers

When my son is old enough to show I'm going to buy a heifer to show so I don't wreck one of my good replacements by getting it in "show condition".  ;D

    best and worst buys

BEST BUY- I'm also going to add a Westendorf TA-26 loader to this list.  Bought it used for $3000.  The quick attach feature is awesome.  You can switch from bale spear to bucket and back in a matter of a couple of minutes.  It was a two person chore with my old loader with a pin on bucket.  I...

    best and worst buys

I had the same truck.  Bought it with 79,000. Just sold it with 215,000 same tranny. I'd have driven it longer but needed more leaf springs and an extended cab.  Only major work was a fuel pump at about 160K.  Excellent truck- I used it for way too much farm stuff for a half ton- haul a ton of...

    Steer or Heifer?

Research which breed has the best Junior Association in your state. Judging by your moniker, I'm guessing you have a preference for Angus.  Most states have good Angus Associations.  Get involved in it. It'll open a lot of doors for you, help you meet outstanding people, allow you to learn about...

    Japanese Mini Trucks

Are they significantly more manueverable than a Toyota/S10/Ranger/etc.?  Seems like you can find a yota  or ranger for $1000 if you don't mind a little rust or miles.

    angus bull grizz???

I used Grizz plenty several years ago and liked the results.  Still have one daughter left out of an Imprint cow.  She's a darn solid cow and looks like she could last into her late teens.  Calving ease is excellent, but don't expect any powerhouse calves by Grizz.  Disposition of the calves is...

DOT regulations in Iowa about pickups with trailers

I don't know about Iowa, but a 10,000 lb truck and two 8000 lb axles gets you to 26,000 lbs which requires a cdl in WI.  I contend that half of all cattle trucks are running illegally according to the rules.

    Mo Magic

Which do you suggest?  I'm just doing a little early casual research.

    Mo Magic

That is definitely an option.  Upgrade is also on the short list.

    Mo Magic

Outstanding bull himself, but wondering if anyone has seen calves or better yet used the bull themselves.  Looking for the right Simm influenced bull to use on some registered Angus cows, calves will be used as replacements to make club calves, but should be good cows also.

    Possiple Flush?

Ditto.  I think the purpose of ET is to quickly multiply success, not gamble.

    Barns, Barns, Barns??

Everyone's got Sullivan fans over each pen, but does anyone put those big exhaust fans built into the wall like you see on the ends of dairy barns?  Seems like they'd make nice air flow.  My ideal showbarn is built into a hill.  Free air conditioning.

Sale report, Stuart?  Wish I could have made it.

    heated room

warm enough that you can stand working in it and warm enough that your pipes don't freeze.

    WEREWOLF

bumping this in case someone might have more info. bull looks intriguing in his photo.

    Those that have Troubador calves

Saw the bull at stud, really liked him.  I know the southern guys like him for the slick deal, but would they have hair?

    The Red Angus Post

Maternal Calving Ease was poor.  Daughters required assistance all too often.

    butchering in the driveway

Strictly from a dollars and sense standpoint, if money was a serious issue...Would beef be your best bang for your food buck?  No.
