It used to be that judges selected animals based on breed character versus the ideal of the specific breed.  Today we have almost completely done away with breed character.

    value of a wilson trailer

Kinda like John Deere tractors.  Those 4020s sell for more now than they did off the assembly line.

    Ford Powerstroke question

The 6.7 sounds like they way too go.  If I didn't like my first born and all my limbs I'd get one.  But, my friends say I'm just cheap. (lol)

    Semen Tank

This is my opinion- unsolicited and free of charge.  A new semen tank is about $500.  Two canes of semen are about $500.  Most of us have more than $500 worth of semen in our tanks.  If you've ever had a tank go bad, you'll happily buy a new one for the peace of mind.

Pics of Red Angus ET Calves - Update (last page)

I can respect your confidence, but I'm not ready to say they're better or worse than the dam yet.  Especially since we're "judging" them off of a few snapshot photos.

    GVC Suh: Any calf Reports?

For what it's worth, Suh was one of my favorite bulls of any breed that year in Denver.  I also have a lot of respect for Dennis Garwood and I don't know Pat Wolfe but everything he's written tells me he's a breeder I'd do business with if I wanted Maine cattle.  One calf doesn't make a calving...

    Full Flush

he needs to be used on a cow with a bunch of rib and a darn good disposition.  He'll put a cool front on one though.

    white socks

Must be a heck of a cow if #1 selection criteria for the bull is color pattern.

    1/4 straw question....

Yes, use the same sheaths.  The 1/4 will seat slightly deeper in the blue guide cup, but that's how it's meant to work.  Sometimes it's easier to load the straw into the gun before putting the sheath on the semen, otherwise you can accidentally bend the straw trying to seat it in the guide cup. ...

    A new problem

I'm sure it happened by accident and he made a gesture towards making it right.  I see no reason to not go back. Things go wrong with livestock it's a fact of the business.
