So You Think You Can Dance......Please vote and help out a home town favorite!!

Big time off topic, but if any of you Steer Planet members watch Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance", there is a young man on there from Ohio named Kent Boyd.  Kent is a recent high school graduate who comes from a very small farming community in Ohio.  He lives in Wapakoneta, which is about 1.5...

    Nintendo DS or PSP

We have both in our house.  Not sure which one is "better", but if you get the DSI, it's got a camera built into it.  I think the games may be cheaper for the Nintendo also.  For an 8 yr old, I would personally do the DS/DSI.  My daughter who is 7, got a DS for Christmas and  uses it pretty often.

    I love arrogant calves!

I love it when they strike a pose like that then take off running like a lightening bolt....lol

    hair

That's something I've always been curious about.  After rinsing (we do it 3x a day), should you blow dry EVERY time?  We've heard conflicting answers from different people.  Some say it's necessary to blow totally dry every time.  Some say blow mostly dry every time. And we've heard on your last...

    Need some advice.......

Got your pm, thanks :) Where his hair is most red is his mid section, so we should be able to take care of that.  Would you dye it now and before show, or just wait until a day or so before the show? Thanks for all your advice.  There is hope!  lol....

    A Caring Reminder......Local Man Killed....

Wow, that's really awful.  I hate to hear stories like that.  Really makes you stop and think doesn't it.

    Need some advice.......

If he's 1350 now, you think I can hold him at 1325?  Just wanted to be sure I read that right. He's in our show barn now under fans, but not really in the dark.  We had planned on getting our cooler done this year, but doesn't look like that is going to happen now.  We're rinsing 3x a day. What...

    unusual hair loss

We have a pen of 17 jerseys that are the chewiest things I've seen!  They will chew on our cows in the next pen and the dumb things just stand there and let them do it!  By looking at some of them, you'd think they had mange or something ???...lol

    Need some advice.......

We just brought our son's steer in from being out in the pasture for 2mths (in an attempt to help him lose some much needed weight). We spent almost 3 hrs on  him trying to get the crap clumps out of him and get him cleaned up.  I was really dreading it and it was just as awful as I had...

    Fitting Mats/Groom Chute Mats

We use mechanics mats we picked up at local hardware store.  Folds in half with a handle, and they were only $15.  Works like a charm. Nice and thick and not bulky to haul.

Heifer For Sale Price Reduced Western Ohio

I think what he means is your comments are almost always the same, meaning "that steer should do well in the show ring" or "that steer will bring home the purple".  Your comments are always nice, just change them up from time to time  ;)

    Steer Price

For a county fair, I wouldn't pay that much.  We've paid anywhere from $800-$1400, but won't go higher.  The year we paid $800 for one, my son beat out a $20,000 steer at our county fair.  WAY too much to spend on a county fair steer I feel, but to each his own I guess.  Just goes to show you...
