    Collecting bulls

Many bulls can produce live sperm at that time but the motility and density is usually poor. I tried one this winter at 11 1/2 months. (Real age, not modified for show or other nefarious purposes)      We tried to collect him with an AV, but the bull would not extend into it(he had never bred...

    Breeding Suggestions..

Lovin' that Charolais female.      Monopoly for her if you want steers that could ring the bell.    Not that familiar with Monopoly females as replacements, but could be real good market heifers.

    semen freezing

Interglobe in IL is about $1.75 to collect and freeze at the facility.  Additional mileage if collected on the farm. They collect Mondays and Thursdays I believe.      Not always able to collect on your chosen date. (Hard to schedule on the farm)

    Cummins 6.7L

I actually had better mileage and power with my 2004 Ford F350 dually 6.0 with 6 speed than with my current 2011 Ram 3500 dually with automatic. The Ford got me about 15-16 empty and 12-13 pulling a trailer/camper. The Dodge gets 13-14 empty and 11-12 pulling. (Based upon conservative driving...

    Simmental Breeders, please help

I did a quick search about Canadian bull studs and really found little helpful info, especially for Simmentals.    If your teacher would let you use Cattle Visons,(based in USA) they have the info you need.    CV exports lots of semen to Canada

    Made to Order (M2O)

Did they clone him?  If so, there should be one coming.

    Starting a new steer project

Don't know his pedigree, but it would have been hard for me to cut him.  That wild color would draw in a lot of folks on its own. As pictured, he looks better than many of the bulls that will be displayed in Denver next week.

    Is Aging a new problem?

I saw several calves sold last fall with frost bitten ears.    March April and May must have brutally cold on their farms last year.

    Is Aging a new problem?

Been a problem forever to the honest cattleman. One fella I spoke to recently told me he is almost done with his March and April calves and is expecting his first May heifers late next week.

    Showin' For Scott

I received info on this benefit from friends on Facebook and thought I would share here- A young cattleman named Scott Leemon has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is receiving treatment at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Family friends are organizing an on-line benefit on Caldwell-Willoughby...

    Me vs. Trausch Farms

They finally got their cattle pictures and video up for their sale tomorrow on Caldwell-Willoughby.  Bidding is open now. (None made yet) Perhaps a lien on these cattle? I think they would have a hard time selling these cattle.
