Trying to register a 25% Simmental

I tried to get on the site yesterday and could find nothing that would help me. I plan to call later today. I was hoping they had some kind of commercial program where I could register through the dam side.      The great grandsire was a registered bull. I just need to find out his name. ...

Trying to register a 25% Simmental

I have a heifer I would like to register as a 25% Simmental. Out of a Belted Galloway bull and Simmental/ Angus cow. I cannot register Beltie as the dam has a white face. Maternal grandsire is a purebred, but not registered Simmental bull. No clue to his lineage. Grand dam is commercial...

    Does she need more feed?

Thank you for your thoughts. We will show her a few places this summer but we don't get real serious about it. She will be bred for a May calf and turned out after our State Fair.

    Does she need more feed?

We will show this heifer this summer but are trying to develop the heifer more as a cow prospect. She is a legitimate June 18 heifer, not a March papered as a June.  She currently weighs 750 at 10 months. Does she need more feed?  She gets 12 pounds a day. First pic In March, second in mid...

Ok one more to ask opinions of :-) Angus this time

There are a lot of bulls out there with better epd's. You can throw all of that out the window if you are chasing purple ribbons. The -1 CED and high birth weight scare me. That is why I have not considered the sire for use on my Angus cows. But to each his own.  Good luck!

Lost a calf yesterday, don't know why

Lost a 12 day old calf yesterday and don't know why. Calf has been thrifty, but found her laying curled up and looking peaceful. Posted the calf.  Heart looked large.    Heart walls were thin. No trauma, no lesions anywhere. Digestive tract and contents were normal in appearance. Coloration...

Putting a ring in a steers nose

She can't show him now, so there is no real risk. I suggest she not be there when ring installed.

Half blood Beltie heifer to critique

Here is a March 7 half blood Beltie heifer out of a Simm/ Angus heifer. My son will show her this summer and then will likely keep her as a brood cow. Your critiques and breeding suggestions would be appreciated. She weighs about 750-800 pounds. I plan to breed late May for a March calf.  A...

    Future Herd Bull

I like that bull.  Really level and square. I appreciate his testicles and muscle expression in his neck.  I consider each a sign of fertility, both in him, but also in his daughters. Any individual performance records or epd's?
