Sent or bought cattle to California, South Carolina and Vermont for $400/head. I am in Illinois. This is with Latham and one other trucking company. I caught them when they had a load headed east or west. I can't do it for that, that is for sure.

MLC announced they would slick shear and exhibit their El Toro bull today in Denver.    I saw one picture of the bull with MLC sheared on one side. Did they indeed slick him for exhibit? If so, any pix?

Going back to my genetics classes from 40 years ago, one out of four carrier x carrier calves will be dead or terribly misshapen, requiring you to kill it. Half will be carriers and one will be clean. I guess it is up to each breeder as to what they can tolerate.

One of my Beltie bulls will give you hair, moderation, loud color and a very maternal female. I'll give you semen if interested.

I haven't noticed the shallow heel issue in Belties that you mentioned.  Learned something new today!  I know you must be careful in feeding them or they can develop foot issues. I was careful in feeding her and had good results.  Thank you for your kind words, I am really looking forward...

Here is a January 2015 heifer calf we raised, showed and later sold just prior to Louisville. She was champ at Illinois State Fair and Reserve National Champion Junior heifer. She was just the second heifer we have had born in four years of trying.  Luckily we had mostly heifers this year.

The Charolais bull Firewater may well throw a calf you would like, especially on the crossbred cows.  He could be used on all of the cows as he is clean.

Would the Hard Core Maine bull have any value as an outcross bull for other purebred Maines? I am assuming he was probably th and pha clean.

He sure is a thick rascal, but I don't feel he will get enough frame to reach the 1250 pound target weight without being overly conditioned (way too fat). Standing next to the owner, he can't be over 38", maybe 40", now can he? He may be competitive in lighter classes if frame and finish are...

I have liked sale calves I have seen out of The Creature. They look to be uniform and complete calves. The uniform thing seems to be rare among the crossbred bulls used today.
