    Here's a straight Hereford calf we had born here. I really like how he looks, and think he might be the one for 4H next year. He was born Mar 2 with a BW of 130 lbs, unassisted. His mama is one of our best producing cows.

    calving season stories

    We always run into upsidedown calves have had as many as 6 out of 80 upsidedown, last year we had 2 out of 100. Some big, some small, seems to be no rhyme or reason to it.     Grafting Calf Question?

    Hobbles. We simply use a set of hobbles that have the chain and hobble her back legs together. Be careful when putting them on her though. Make sure she is restrained good. Takes 3-5 days for most cows and they take the calf. Have had the odd cow that never did take the new calf too.
