#1 issue in animal production right now?

I agree with chambero on this. Most ranchers in the industry, (not show cattle), are either aging quickly, or are part of some corporation or investment firm. The old ranchers may pass their herd on to their children, just like theyre family has done for years, however, with the economy the way...

    Blonde Joke

One more. There's three bulls standing in a pen getting ready for breeding season. Theres a large bull, a medium bull, and a small bull. About this time, the  rancher comes home from the sale barn with a new bull. He's huge, mean and just plain scary. The large bull looks around and says...

    Blonde Joke

A man walks into a bar, he sits down and asked the bartender" are u a betting man", the bartender says ive been known to bet from time to time, what u got? he said i bet you 20 dollars i can bite my right eye. The bartender says im game, and the man takes his glass eye out and bites it. He then...

    Going at it too hard?

Weigh him every two weeks and figure up his avg. daily gain, then ur can project his approximate weight by multiplying it by the number of days u have left. Then tweak his feed as needed.

    Blonde Joke

First off i have nothing against aggies, i go to school there myself, but i just wanted to share this joke. A czech family is visiting the zoo in texas. Theyre looking at  the great silverback gorillas, when their two year old son crossed the barrier and one of the gorillas snatched him up...

    County Steer

Have your vet check and see if he is a cryptorchid (sp?), i saw the same thing with his sheath, and after further evaluation, his head and neck looks a little like a young bull, but it may just be the pics.

    Heatwave. is it all Legit?

Theres good HWs and bad ones, u should look more into the phenotype of a steer than the genotype, because thats all the judge is going to knw. From the breeding aspect, i agree it is imperative to know exactly what you have. But, its always been and always will be an unknown as to whether the...

    Heifer Acting Wierd

Do you have acorns where you live, in one of my animal science classes, the instructor told us about acorn toxicity in cattle. Not sure if this is the case, but they get addicted and wont eat anything but acorns, he had a bull die from this, look it up on google.

Advice and opinions on my 2011 Steer

His heartgirth should be fine, and so will his flank. These are very nitpicky opinions, epecially on  steer as nice as yours. I have been around a lot of very good cattle and this one, going to a county fair in Pennsylvania, should have no problems. He is a great deal better than the one that...

ft worth steer to pick on

Heres what i see, so take it or leave it. As an american he could work. Ur really gonna have to drop those ears and his sheath though. his extra hair won't help things either. Remember, if u try to run american and get classed out, u cannot show at ft worth. As an exotic, i think he will be just...

Best Place in the Country to Sell Show Calves

If these breeders u speak of had any idea of the kind of money the steer jocks turn down here, they would definitely raise their prices.
