The craziest thing you have seen at a cattle show

At the  show barn one day, a kid in the ag chapter had a full throttle that was an absolute nut. We were up at the barn during shop class, he pulled the calf out of the pen, no sooner than he walked into the alley the steer flipped a lid. He kicked him four times, and within a matter of two...

Is showing Beef Cattle really competative everywhere?

Here in Texas, the show circuit is extremely competitive, but beyond asking someone for their family secrets, most people don't mind helping another family with issues. Especially if ur calf is sick, or you need help with something at a show. I have a lot of friends that i showed against, and we...

    Getting started after college

Look into heartbrand beef with the use of Okioshi cattle. They grade really well, if u lease a bul, or buy or leasecattle from them they guarantee something like 800 dollars per weaned calf. Not sure on the prices, u should do some research on it.

    flex in pasturns?

The pastern is in between the hoof and the dewclaw. a steer with little or no flex in his pasterns is usually referring to a structural problem. But sometimes it is believed that a steer who pops in his pasterns is at a nutrient deficiency, and can be helped with a mineral block

    American Royal Livestock Judging

Louisville should be interesting this year. With Bloomberg at OSU, Franke at Tamu, and Rathmann at TTU, things will get nasty. But, i do know that the TAMU team is stout, stout, stout, these kids can't be beat if they all show up on the same day.

    Guaranteeing Cattle to win really?????????

If it was a real guarantee, he would offer your money back if u don't win. Even the best cattle minds can't make that prediction and be right more than 25% of the time. If they could make a guarantee like that, then the highest priced steer would win. In reality ive seen a lot more 20000 dollar...

Not showy, take a look at the first page, and who cares if his head isn't "pretty", he's not a horse or a girl, it doesn't matter. Not deep? What the hell are you talking about, look at the picture right above your post, he's more than adequate in his depth. JMO Also, How can you tell he's got...

I was on his brothers team at Blinn. I was too young to remember, but everybody always said he's undefeated there, so i wouldn't doubt it.

**8 month old heifer that charges**

hitting in the nose gets their attention, it may bleed, but not much, its like getting your nose busted. The face bone is solid, so its liable to hurt you more than them.
