What Club Calf Bull to use on smaller framed cows to make show steers?

Thank you to everyone for all of your responses!  My only other train of thought was to go with something with a little more "Chi" influence.  i.e. a "Who Da' Man" son, or an old school "Chi" bull, i.e. Hannibal?

What Club Calf Bull to use on smaller framed cows to make show steers?

CAB:  Which type of cow would Fu Man Chu work on?  Ohlde style deep body, angus or clubby showy, shallow?

What Club Calf Bull to use on smaller framed cows to make show steers?

Thank you for all the GREAT responses thus far.  After reading your responses and giving more thought, perhaps I am really looking for two (2) different types of bulls.  1. One that will add frame, a clean long front end, may be a THC. To use on the more maternal made, deeper, plainer, needs...

What Club Calf Bull to use on smaller framed cows to make show steers?

Here is my issue/problem:  I have a few smaller framed cows.  Some clubby bred cows (more showy looking, if you will), some smaller angus cross cows, (more maternal looking), but pretty good cows.  Most of today's Club Calf Bulls are smaller in frame.  I have tried many of these current bulls...

    Making Females. Bull Suggestions Needed.

IMHO:  I would use a PB bull and get the heterosis POP.  Especially if you want the F1 females for club calf mamas, as you will be breeding them to "crossed-up" club calf sires. 3C Macho Built Right High Regard Proven Simmental bulls for making replacement females on Angus cows.  (pop)

How to breed to get big soggy cows!!

OK  Now that everyone is done stating the given fact of...Do not use clubby bulls to make replacement females.  Some folks mention to use Angus, or Simm, or Maine, or Shorthorn.  However, this is not enough. I believe is more the individual bull not the PB or Crossbred that matters.  IMHO: Our...

    What Simmental Bull to use?

I have used and really like Built Right.  Blazed Face, makes good females, good structure, thick, long body, moderate frame, fairly easy calving. You said you did not want to make your offspring any taller.  Broker in a pretty big/tall rascal.  Taller than a Built Right.

    Reimann's Dispersal

I understood the family is keeping the commercial cow herd.  Which I would imagine already has a "bull battery" of comercial bulls.  For all the "club calf cows" I would have thought he would have a set of "club calf bulls" he was using. I also was wondering about the 2013 born bred heifers and...

Maternal Perfection Calves and a Mature Photo

The Roger bull Maternal Perfection, sired by Irish Whiskey, came out in 2013, I believe. Whom among you had Maternal Perfection calves last year, and how did they turn out (and out of what type of cows)?  Or has anyone seen and Maternal Perfection calves and how are they? Also, wondering where...

    Favorite Angus bull for heifers

Hopefully this question will lead to some good conversation and opinions, and personal breeding experiences...  <beer> Who is your favorite proven, Easy Calving, Angus bull to use on crossbred heifers?  Primary goal:  is to make a small, light birthweight calf, with good vigor.  A LIVE...

    GCC Whizard

Anyone have calves out of GCC Whizard and "Clubby" or "Crossbred" cows?  I have heard some good things, and I am looking to make some replacement females. Wondering his frame size?  Does he downsize the calves, as my cows are not large framed and do not want to make them smaller?  Is there...

    maternal perfection

Anyone out there that could give a report on having calves out of Maternal Perfection and "Clubby" or crossbred cows? Will he add depth of rib and guts? Does he tend to "shorten the side", or length of his offspring?

    Hard Whiskey or Live Action

To those of you that have bred to the half sib Maine Anjou brothers, Hard Whiskey (Hard Core/Hard Drive?) and Live Action (Predator), which bulls makes better replacement females and out of what type of cows?  Thanks!

    Hard Whiskey

My thinking on Hard Whiskey was that he was "different" than most other Maine Anjou bulls in that he was deeper bodied and more maternal.  A sire we could use on crossbred cows and maybe even shallower middled cows or cows that needed some depth of body to make replacement females. In the above...
