    OCC Emblazon 854e

I have used many of Tim Ohlde’s bulls including OCC Emblazon 854E.  IMHO Emblazon was and is one of the best “female makers” Tim ever raised and may be in the Angus breed.  I love his daughters! Having said that...his calves are lighter in BW and built structure wise to come easy.  However, he...

Where have all the readers/posters gone?

For years, there are times that I could not understand Kanabe’s posts.  Sometimes his purposeful attempts at being “vague, thought provoking, and humorous” perhaps are an “inside joke” or he is attempting to be “sly and/or coy”?  In any event... I do not understand what “set Kanabe off” about 5...

Where have all the readers/posters gone?

AJ: Except for two things... 1.  Most of the “old posters” that I and Kanabe and others above have named, ARE NOT five year cowboys.  They are still in the cattle business. 2.  Then where are the NEW FIVE YEAR COWBOYS on this site to replace the ones that are gone?

Where have all the readers/posters gone?

I registered on Steer Planet on December 29, 2008, but followed and read posts for quite some time prior to actually registering.  I could read posts without registering however, needed later to register in order to put up a post.  Prior, I too was on the old cattle forum Show Steers or whatever...

    Love this time of year

Hey AJ,  How do your 20/20 Double Vision cows milk? I have considered going back and crossing him onto some “Ohlde-Duff” type of Angus cows to make females.  But was always worried about three things... 1) Daughters milking 2) Too straight 3) Defects-TH and PHA Always wondered if he would...

NWSS Display Bull Reports and Thoughts

Evidently, no one cares to comment on the NWSS that went this year.  So sad...I guess I may need to find a new site...

Where have all the readers/posters gone?

Just wondering “What has happened to this site”?  It seems very few cattlemen follow this forum or if they do, they do not start posts or comment.  This past weekend was the “Big Weekend” of the NWSS Display Bulls.  The NWSS is the largest cattle event of the year in this country.  Yet almost no...

NWSS Display Bull Reports and Thoughts

Saturday, January 19, 2019 Today is the large outdoor Display of Bulls at the 2019 NWSS. How about everyone that was there (or received reports from fellow cattlemen), please give the rest of us that were unable to attend, your thoughts on the bulls that were displayed?  What was shown on...

    W/C Loaded Up 1119Y Sons?

I really like the Simmental bull W/C Loaded Up 1119Y.  However, the $100/unit semen price is somewhat prohibitive.  I have heard that he has numerous sons available. In your opinions, who is the best son of W/C Loaded Up 1119Y and why?  Thanks in advance!

    SAC Conversation

I purchased some sexed female, SAC Conversation semen this weekend from Top Sires, Mike Weidner, at the Michigan Beef  Expo.  Thanks Jim! Planning on A.I.'ing three "proven" crossbred cows with some clubby genetics, with the purpose of producing replacement females.  I.E. one Hannibal (Donor)...

    Fireball Whiskey calves?

How have the Fireball Whiskey calves finished when fed out?  I have heard that he is both THF and PHAF. I have a THC cow that is a little smaller framed that I am considering breeding him to.  She will make them too small with NO grow when bred to a small framed bull. Are Fireball Whiskey...

    SAC Conversation

SAC CONVERSATION is a 2010 model bull and I am thinking that there should be a large number of progeny available. I heard that he is producing some very nice cattle.  He even has some sexed female semen available from Select Sires for $50/unit. My semen rep. told me that he is NOT a calving ease...
