A.I. Synchronization Protocols-Phase II or What to do with Non-Responders

I have been A.I.ing cattle for over 35 years.  For along time strictly watching for standing heats and breeding accordingly.  Normally, A.I. breeding for six weeks to give all cows two cycles in attempt to catch A.I. I have used synchronization protocols and embryo transfer for nearly twenty...

A.I. Synchronization Protocols-Phase II or What to do with Non-Responders

Issue:  A.I. Synchronization Protocol-Phase I Based on vets, embryologists, articles in cattle publications, charts in the back pages of semen catalogs, online cattle blogs, posts on Steer Planet, other cattlemen, and your own experiences...you have chosen an A.I. synchronization protocol to...

    Best time to castrate steer

Day One...or ASAP  Least amount of stress on both calf and "cutter"!  LOL! Our preference is "cut" over "band".  You always know when you "Pull out TWO"!  NO QUESTIONS and no "SHOATS" LATER!  Also, you get drainage. Preferably, before or after "Fly Season". "Get'er Done...!"

    Best Goretska 805 son?

Could we please get back to the original post. Has anyone seen the sons/bulls out of the Goretska 805 Cow, at stud?  What do they look like and what are their pluses, minuses, and differences?  Which one may be the best and for what reason? Thanks!  (pop)

    GCC Whizard or Roger's Outsider?

What do you mean?  "Not to change the subject"?  Seriously?!  The subject was...asking for comments from breeders with experience using two, proven, half blood, Simmental Sires, Whizard and Outsider, for making replacement females?  Then you go on, explaining of a bull that you "saw" calves out...

    GCC Whizard or Roger's Outsider?

Looking for breeders with experience using these two half blood Simmental bulls or Cattmen that have seen and evaluated the offspring of these two sires. Which of these two bulls below do you like best for making good replacement females for the production of club calves. Griswold's GCC...

    Kung Fu

Has anyone seen Wade Roger's new Fu Man Chu son "Kung Fu"?  In your opinion (I understand breeding and visual only), is he better than his sire? Could some of you please give your comments and thoughts on this bull?

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

I guess I do not think of Paddy O' Malley as a Maternal bull sire?

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

I have used Bismarck, Gold Standard, and this year, Bush's Unbelievable at my place but only on heifers.  I really like all three.  My Bismarck is a little "weak topped".  The Unbelievable's may have a little more muscle and power.  All great phenotype and profile and fronts! Not sure which is...

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

I was wondering about Maternal Made myself.  Bred a couple to him last year and expecting calves in a couple weeks.  I think he is a very good bull. What frame size is Maternal Made and is he "excellent fronted"?  As I need to clean-up her front end.

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

Has anyone used Hannibal recently for making females?

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

I am concerned about using an Angus bull (i.e. Bismarck, who I love), for fear I will lose thickness, muscle, and power?

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

Very interesting.  I like the sounds of Hannibal with his extreme muscle and rocket front end, however would I "lose too much rib and depth"? Perhaps I-80 or Mercedes Benz? What are your thoughts on Maternal Perfection or Daddy's Money?

Who is the BEST fronted "maternal bull" to make replacement females?

I have a very good cow that is getting some age on her.  She does about everything right except her front end is not long or pretty enough to make "show heifers".  She is extremely deep ribbed, powerful, big topped, square made, moderate to small frame.  She is a Theobald 969 x Strictly Business...

Wade Roger's-LLSF Better Believe It 264D-PB Simmental Bull

Thanks for all your responses!  I am continually on the look-out for a Simmi and/or Simmi X bull to use on both my Angus cows to make F1's and some of my 2nd calve crossbred cows to make replacement females (they are my latest, and hopefully best stock), and I sometimes do not breed them...

Wade Roger's-LLSF Better Believe It 264D-PB Simmental Bull

Has anyone seen Wade Roger's new PB Simmental bull, LLSF Better Believe It 264D? He is sired by "Pays To Believe" and his dam is "LLSF Cayenne".  I am not familiar with breeding behind either sire or dam. Wade has a photo and video of him on his blog... I have used several of Roger's bull in...

Reimann's RR Firewater (Irish Whiskey Son)

I have seen photos of many RR Firewater bred heifers in sale catalogs.  Wondering how they turned out as cows.  Depth of body, milk, and how are their calves? Thank you,

Reimann's RR Firewater (Irish Whiskey Son)

Wondering if anyone owns, or has seen any daughters out of Reimann's RR Firewater (Irish Whiskey Son), that are in production? How have they turned out?  In particular, how are their calves and how do they milk?

Bulls that sired the "meanest" calves

This is a good "old post", that until today, 01/25/2017 has not had a reply since 2010! How about some of you responding to the question... What bull throws the "meanest" calves? from some of the more "current" A.I. Sires?  LOL!
