    Maternal Charolais Bull

These cows first calves came out of LT Ledger, was considering breeding them back but I was unimpressed, not the level of muscle I expected from a char and plain made. On the other hand great growth and born un-assassinated out of 2 first calf heifers so good commercials for sure. Bull calf was...

    Maternal Charolais Bull

Suggestions for a Purebred Charolais bull that will have good daughters to keep as replacements but still be pretty enough for show cattle? I will post the Pedigrees later but for now the only thing I have ruled out is Firewater because I want to be able to breed the resulting heifers to him. I...

    Bull Selection

One and Only or Rumor Mill. No defects so the heifers will almost certainly be eligible for breeding, if your looking to expand that is. For steers a monopoly son or grandson. More specifically Man Among Boys and his clones and sons. I say monopoly son or grandson because the clubbies don't...

Is a 120 on a yearling bull ok?  How big will his daughters be (pelvises)?

    Thoughts on this Bull calf

Looks a lot like a good number of cows I have w/out the muscling. Very nice but needs depth

    Shorthorn Discussion

This may have already been said but as I (really my dad) am a commercial cattlemen. We would look it is: 1. BW and CE 2. Horns and Scurrs not allowed 3. WW and YW (Growth) in comparison to Yearling frame. 4. Yearling Frame 5. Color-would not buy a roan or excessively chromed up bull as it is...

    What is a Cell Line?

Based on the paragraph I would guess that a 'cell line' is the rights to blood/dna samples and cloning rights.

calve in a calving pen or in pasture question

Also, I just look at each cow for about 15 minutes and decide which 5 are closest and then lock them up then once a calf is out put the pair to pasture 24 hours after birth

calve in a calving pen or in pasture question

I would put them inside if it's going to be either 1. wet 2. snow 3. rain 4. windy 5. less than 15 degree

Carlson I'm your age and I understand not always thinking things through, however, if you just search 'BIM' or 'Believe in Me' you would find the answer to your question.

Best age for clean up bull

Keep the bull that you like the best and sell the other one, a single bull is plenty for breeding up to 30 cows. He is (hopefully) only going to cover 20 cows.

    MAB price

He can't make up his mind because he is 14 and not that knowledgeable. This is self-evident, he only shows at a county fair (like me) so you guys oughta lay off. Also Carlson you may want to stay away from definite decisions when you're going to change your mind 20-40 days later.

    Optimal Regional Phenotypes

These cows could work anywhere. If your somewhere with more rain you could just bulk up your stocking rate as I imagine that they are real easy fleshing. http://www.cattletoday.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=89230
