Those with cool rooms, have you used the showbed bedding( http://www.flextraninc.com/showbed.html) in your cooler and how was it? Was it good bedding and how does it compare to cedar fiber or sawdust?
Thanks feed guy, i might have to pick your brain sometime on how to split the big plugs down to do that. Nothing I hate more than having to fight to have electricity on show day.

those that could do video chat would be a plus in my book, Brad sure got through a lot of questions compared to typing
We liked the bidding on a few last fall that we decided to have our own this fall. While it is fast enough to get the bidding done in a short time frame, it is not as fast as an auctioneer where you don't even have time to think when bidding.

I would like to do a ton (2000) pounds at a time. Would do less if possible. We have a bunch of barley we can use but the local mill does not have room for it/doesn't want it there.
Who makes a good feed mixer for making your own show feeds? I am looking to take our own grains and order in rumensin, fats, and other things. I am just looking to make the feeding of our own show cattle and possibly our show cattle customers feed.
I love my sheephead and flathead premiers. For show cattle for sure I like them both from premier. I think osters have more power for slick shearing but I could be wrong. The smaller size around and length makes them easier to use.
I would say you need to have your calf in 90 days before your big show/shows. One thing I always think of is that hair only lasts so long before they have to shed out. I am pretty sure that even if you had a calf in a cooler all winter through summer that after 5 or 6 months they would shed. I...
Are these strong enough for regular use? Has anyone used them? I haven't seen many out probably because they are quite expensive but looking to make an investment for a long time. Does it turn Charolais cattle grey like aluminum trailers do? ???
I have been wondering the same thing. I don't know if a cow behaves different in eating or if her weight fluctuates where a growsafe scale deal would pick it up. Or if a little sensor would just monitor body movement and when you would get a series of movements indicating labor that an alarm...
then why is Heat Wave Original at $250 and Heat Wave 1 at $125 and all of the other clones costing $30?
Because some people believe that the Original and 1 are better than the others. They probably sell out on the original and 1 at lower costs and since it is a busines they raise prices. Some...
Just to warn you if you don't already know, a shorthorn x simmental cross can throw some really funky(in a bad way) color patterns. We leased a shorthorn bull a couple of years ago and when he got a cow with simmental it was not pretty. They might be good cattle, but the color patterns were...
