    Will this feed recipe work?

I would be concerned with 6 fat as well..  I've always been told not to go over 5 without concern. what other kind of protein supplements do you have out there? Fish meal?  how about alfalfa pellets for roughage, and protein?

    Will this feed recipe work?

Do you think the 'fluffiness' of the feed might counteract that though?  Of course, I mix my feed with 200 beet pulp and 200 cottonseed, instead of just using one ingrediant.  My feed is bulky enough that 40 pounds barely fits into standard 50 pound bags... I suppose my cottonseed is fluffier...

    Will this feed recipe work?

Rolled barley and corn are pretty similar.  Barley will put a 'harder' touch on one though. best thing I an say, is try it for a couple of months and give it plenty of time to either work or fail...

The bull that wasn't in Denver

Half blood Maine, 7/8 Shorthorn-- meaning he will sired purebred shorthorns from purebred shorthorn cows. This bull is sired by Redline (PB Red Maine) with Vortec/ Gizmo/ Improver 57 and a triple shot of Elbee "Royal" cow line on the bottom.  This bull is made, bred, and expected to be a heifer...

    Shorthorn Bulls of the Past

I agree- were they clean or carrier?  Or does it matter?  to me, show steers and market heifers can be hot- who cares? Like I said above, we all have it, we all want to get rid of it, but nobody can... Back to topic-  it seems like the 'other crowd' wants this thread derailed too.

    Shorthorn Bulls of the Past

Is breeding a THC/ PHAC to a THF/ PHAF any different than breeding a  THF/ PHAF to  a double carrier? It's the same.  The massive ignorance being overlooked- is trying to find a double clean, and breeding it to a double clean- to produced a good one.

    Shorthorn Bulls of the Past

reread.. I  ETA That is not even close to being true. Why pretend you know something about the club world when you dont even breed for them. Stick to your maine/shorthorn whatever they are. Hey crab ass--- those words are in reference to shorthorn steer producing cows.  Find me a shorthorn...

If market steer has an abscess, should it be lanced or treated with medicine?

absess, or tooth problem?  Either one could be?  I'd try and fix it.

What do you think of this

I have seen it done once, but more so as a joke.  When I was little, we had a supply man deliver to the farm monthly- one trip our dog bit him- he was judging a show I was going to the next week, and I was to be the only exibitor at that show in our breed.  He told me, I'd not win a single...

    Shorthorn Bulls of the Past

I was unaware of any Candians promoting THC bulls- I'd like for you to show me one, as I'm sure it would be the only one that would be worth using from above the border.

    I-80 on Ali granddaughter?

We are using a herd bull here on our heifers- that is sired by an Ali son- and dammed by an Ali daughter.  His picture is first-- was a nice bull as a calf- and like many herd bulls should be- has lived a rough life out with cows- so he doesn't look like much today.  We have not bred this bull...

The bull that wasn't in Denver

Another bull that wasn't in Denver...  Hoping to do some clipping and picture taking this weekend.  He's 12 months old, and been running with 10 heifers for just over a month now.  Grass hay, and a worn out stalk field.

    Shorthorn Bulls of the Past

He's usually pretty far away from sentences talking of show steers. Carl:  How about your little snappy bull?  is he heifer safe?  Yet can produce a good one?  Looking for something to breed to Redline daughters first time around.
