We use 10-12 inches of ag lime. Put it in, level it out, soak it with water, and the run a compactor over it. Makes a good base and gets as hard as concrete. Then top with wood chips

We spray their legs with and hard stream of water, they can kick all they want and not hurt anything and they finally get tired of kicking then start combing their legs and flank if they start kicking again get the hose back out.

We used to wash in the cold as long as the hose wasnt frozen no matter how cold it was. Seemed to bother us more than the calves. Since those days we have built a wash room and insulated it and put a small heater in there. We can now wash or rinse no matter how cold it is .

Electric is a must . We went a little overboard but 10 strands of high tensile and every other one is hot. Overkill , yes but our bulls haven't gotten out. We have pit old tractor tires up for them to rub on and beat on seems to save things like gates and fence posts .
