Anybody else see similar results.....  This was maybe the most economically useful post I have seen on here!  I plan to put most of my ground to alfalfa next year.....  Will be telling the bailer to wrap it double based on this!

We are small farm.....  we used to feed out our 60-70 calves and sell them a trailer load at a time at Omaha livestock and our trailer load would ALWAYS  top the market......  so.where near ten straight years that if we had an honest group of fats without a heiferette or anything they would top...

Higher carcass weight sure helps......... 

No where does it discuss feed conversion......  Studies show that there is a significant difference incharlois and limi steers in the feedlot using less feed to gain......  I would think their mamas would carry the same trait.    Smaller and more feed efficient is a good combo.

Talked to Chris yesterday.  I am getting some direct whiskey, after telling him I was getting it, I explained what we had for heifers and he quickly said, use him on the angus based, he really works well on angus.....  He is a safe birthweight bull with direct impact and Irish whiskey behind...

What he said, might be a convenience factor for many......  I know when I order semen, I end up ordering more then I need, and maybe some bulls that I am not going to use right away just to save shipping costs and for convenience....

We calve mostly march April, and the last three years have had a harder time in forty degree and knee deep mud and rain with calves then we have had with the few we calves in jan and feb.....  Of course this year has been colder then most, but there is plenty of crappy weather in march...... ...
