I agree that it happens, "I buy yours, you buy mine", but I don't think that's what happening with these heifer sales.  I've been watching a lot of sales this year, trying to buy a decent heifer at an "affordable" price, and it happens at almost every sale.  Even the $50k+ isn't what's...

Watching the Exposure sale, first open heifer went through at $57k.  So far they are all into the $teens.  How in the he** do you spend $57k for an open heifer that hasn't produced a single calf?

I disagree.  There are times when they absolutely won't go in the chute.  A quick shock is better than fighting with them for a while.  I'm not strong enough to overpower a 1200 pound cow to push them in the chute. 

What's going on with the Cattle Today boards?  They've been down at least the last couple of days.
