    Cyrus

I have a Cyrus heifer that is out in the pen getting fat.  She is half of a bull heifer twin set and is a freemartin.  (Yes we checked her when we preged the heifers.) She is a pretty fair heifer.  I will get some pics in her plain clothes.  She is a market beef project and a little steery...

    TOOL (Full brother to Whiplash)

This whole saga is sounding more like a soap opera.  Bull sits in a pasture in WY breeding cows instead of being promoted while he is a full sibling to one of the best clubby mama makers.  Another full sibling comes out ahead of him, then we get told the best one was held back.  Old mother cow...

    Weight Range at your fairs

I am both a fair board member and parent.  We went to an 1100 lb minimun with no maximum.  There are very few cattle that are finished in today's industry at less that 1100.  We have no upper limit but they do not sell for more than 1500 lbs.  In my mind as a fairboard member you are providing a...

    Victorias Secret

I am sure they miss us.  We were one of those groups that worked hard and played harder.  We never missed class, always ready to study but when it was time for a good joke we all got in on the laugh.

    Victorias Secret

The thing is if Victoria is wearing that stuff she has no secrets! Reminds me of a time we went on a trip while in college.  Our faculty adviser was a great guy but a little stiff.  His wife loved a good joke.  We planted a frilly in his bag at the airport then called his wife to let her in on...

    Butchering and meat consumption

Never had meat of any kind or species that I didn't like.  I have eaten most things from snakes, gator, wild meat of most types and almost every bird big enough to be worth cooking.  Goat was good and better than lamb in my book.  Beef and pork are the top on the list.  Favorite would be the...

    The Electric Fence (N/C)

Moving sprinkler pipe one morning in a pasture.  We had a hot wire that you had to slide the pipe out from under before you moved the pipe.  Shut the line off, moved the opener, then went to move the pipe.  Standing there in water with wet hands and picked up an aluminum pipe.  I took one heck...

    TOOL (Full brother to Whiplash)

Thanks for the information Skyler.  He is a nice bull and one heck of a cow family behind him.  Wonder if Luphers have a picture of the old girl as a young girl.

    implants on show steers/heifers???

I have 3 heifers that will be getting implants this weekend.  All three are for terminal shows.  One is a TFR Cyrus purebred hereford free martin heifer, one is a Jimmy the Greek, and the last is a Carnac heifer.  These are not breeding prospects so I don't feel bad about messing them up...

    cow family

My grandpa used to say about Arabian horses.  Not many people didn't like a little Arabian blood but not many liked much.  I sometimes think that the Chi and Maine is the same.  A little to clean up the front and square up the pins but not so much you have to deal with the hard keeping hard...
