    twins with embryo's

well i'm gonna take a shot here and say they are twins.  This follows the lines of genetics.  If you have a donor cow that has a black gene(B) and a recessive red gene(b) and the bull has a black gene and a recessive red gene you will have 25% BB, 50% Bb and 25%bb.  So you could have had a one...

Bacteria in silage and newborn calf death

You could have a problem with mycotoxins in the corn.  Mycotoxins are a type of fungi that grows on corn when it has been stored to wet.  I think the first step you need to take is exactly what hamburgman said....STOP feeding the silage and get it TESTED.

What to do with this calf? Thoughts?

your so welcome blackdiamond.  Maybe if you wanted a different answer you should have posted those pictures first.  But like I said before I stand by what I say and I still don't like him as a bull.  Still has the same things wrong with him in my opinion. FYI he does lack rib and flash in my...

What to do with this calf? Thoughts?

I will give you my honest opinion... This calf is long from end to end, big, stout boned, strong over his top line while displaying some excellent slope hooks to pins.  HOWEVER, he wants to turn in on his toe on his back right foot (could also be the way he is standing).  When you get back and...

    for Knabe

I remember seeing this heifer at the Kansas Beef Expo, if I am not mistaken.  I loved her then and still love her.  Shorthorn X Red Angus calves, I think, make some exceptional calves when crossed with the right genetics and mommas.  A neighbor to the south of use crosses his Shorties with Red...

    HELP WITH AMEN CALF!

Try giving him some corn oil and milk replacer.  I had a steer that was getting to tall one year and I was told to give him 4 tablespoons of corn oil morning and evening.  The milk replacer will help put a little cover on him, so you can use it if you would like.

Monopoly x Strictly Business Son steer... thoughts/opinions?

I used to feed my steers at least 2% of their body weight.  I would also time them to see if they clean it all up in 30 minutes.  This told me whether I needed to increase or decrease the feed ration as well.  Hope this helps.
