    denver bulls

Do you mean did he have any nuts? Or do you mean did he look like a bull? He had enough in the testicle dept, he's still pretty young. And he was more of a man than 95% of the other clubby bulls. I'm telling ya, almost all of those things make me choke back puke, and I'll be using Getcha...

First Calf Shorthorn Heifer bull options

We may picture him again before he shucks just because of how much he's come on in the last 90 days. We'll also be showing him at all the majors. His momma flushes like gangbusters, and we're going to have lots of full sibs to him over the next few years. We've used he and Hot Commodity on...

First Calf Shorthorn Heifer bull options

We've flushed our best cow to Deception and the calves are stellar. We have a bull were going to show and promote out of him, and the same donor had a natural heifer calf in the fall that is among the best we've ever produced. Calving ease is great, and ours grow very well and are extremely...

    Fresh and Feminine

Fresh and feminine is definitely more focused on the fresh. I feel like it really does help us keep fat out of chests and udders if used correctly. Of course if you don't know how to feed, you're gonna get a mess. As far as watering out of a bucket, yes it will help. But we've had cattle get...

    Fresh and Feminine

Fresh and feminine 100% for me. Femininity took too much bloom off during show season for us. Useful when wanting to hard crash one though.

    Fresh and Feminine

Both products work very well in my opinion. Won't feed a big heifer without fresh and feminine, and won't go to a show without refresh. Use the refresh for about a week at home before you go.

    denver bulls

I couldn't believe how much better he was than everything else. Not the biggest ended or most freaky up front, but just far and away the best put together animal out there. May be in my top 3 of all clubby bulls I've ever seen.

    denver bulls

Best clubby bull on display, and it wasn't even close, was Wade's black and white one. Dude is the real deal. Can't stand 95% of those no structured puds, but I'd use him. Also liked the bull Mark Johnson raised that Lautner has, and Bridwells New Era as well.

First Calf Shorthorn Heifer bull options

I would use Hot Commodity without even thinking about it. In my mind, he just makes flat better cattle than any other calving ease sire. I also believe he's DS  free. We've also been delighted with our calves by Deception as well. He's Hot Commoditys maternal brother sired by Red Reward.

    Opinions ? EXAR Classen heifer

Eh, don't sweat it. Being immature this time of year is fine. We're showing a June heifer and in the open show at NWSS the judge said she's an amazing female, but the other class winners are older......well duh. She was the youngest female in the show. Didn't bother the Jr show jidge, he still...

    Making Females. Bull Suggestions Needed.

I don't know, I've won a lot more shows with just basically good made cattle with fancy haircuts and a little finesse with a feed pan than I ever have with a freak. A good example of this is Monopoly. His mom is just a really good made Angus. And he works on everything from PB Char, Shorthorn...

Las Rouge De pres-The ancient breed in France

Unreal. These "breeders" have completely lost it. What would happen if somebody with a lot more money and sense set up a little farm in France or Germany and imported some good American embryos and then showed them. Would they win everything or would they be too different? Would there be a...

    Sale photo help

I'll have to get back to you on exactly which camera we used, but I think it's just an entry level Nikon DSLR.  I know I only paid 300 for it, and then a bit more for an additional lense. As far as what we use to edit, it's always photoshop.  We didn't edit these photos in any way. We hardly...

    Sale photo help

You need at least 2 people to get photos that I would consider using. It is easily worth the added cost to hire help to prep and photo the cattle. I'll attach some that I and one other person took last winter.

    Whitening Shampoo That Really Works?

A few squirts of Mrs. Stewart's bluing in a bottle of non ultra dawn works the best by far. It's not even close. Just play around with how strong you like to make it.

(More) Shorthorn Cattle for you all to look at.

Yep, that's the right number.  I think this will be one of the first Deception sons to be shown and promoted.  As an aside, we are interested in selling 1/2 interest in both of these animals.  That's not what this post is for, but I'd be glad to talk with anyone that might interested in such...

Thanks! It must be that shot of Canadian influence that does it.  ;)

(More) Shorthorn Cattle for you all to look at.

We pictured cattle this previous weekend, and I kinda wanted to show off the first two calves by our young donor, OLSN Revival.  The cow herself was only shown once, and was Reserve Grand Champion at the IL State Fair 2013. Her first calf is by TM Gus and has been a great show heifer for us so...

They have to be in a Junior member's name.  If your kids aren't members yet, just call the ASA and they will set you up.
