    help with breeding

Is the heifer you speak of the one that is in your avatar? If that is her,and even if it's not,I would use the new halfblood everyone is gogga [including me] about,...GRIZZLY. He has everything you want in a bull, and he can be used on heifers. He may replace alot of the other halfbloods that...

    OYE Judge

They show by weight. I'm afraid he might be a little bit to the extreme even for Jack. That scoundrel must be a feed gulping machine..Good luck

fall born shorthorn bull / steer

That little feller looks to be better than butter. If he is "clean" he would probably bring what you're asking in the Ohio Beef Expo, maybe more.

    Congratulations

Thanks alot for the flowers to my stepdaughters. They also sold a great little steer to Mark Copus that he sent to one of his best customers in California. They sold a little commercial heifer to a rancher in Fort Scott ks. They have a really nice spring born purebred shorthorn bull consigned to...

    Walks Alone

If he's not, there are going to be a alot of disapointed people, cause he was used alot. Have never seen the bull, was told he was one of the better bulls that had ever been seen at stud, after collection. That however doesn't mean he is sound. Heard he was a great lookin bull, but rather small.

What is a good shorthorn bull?

Ace of Diamonds can/is used on first calf heifers. The folks who bred AOD have used him numerous times on first calf heifers, with no problems. We used him on two heifers with no problems.

    OYE Judge

Jack likes them sound. A little extra frame doesn't bother him at all if the steer is complete. The reference to him being an Angus man,is a little construed. He was a Hereford man first. The thing I like about him is a 1400lb. steer that is really good, can win.

    chi bulls

Several of the clubbies have a little Chi blood. Dr, Who is used for this purpose probably more than any of the clubbies. If you are looking for maternal, trying to get replacement heifers, I would use Analyze This, or some of the Ard Ridge genetics.

    Congratulations

We are waiting on pictures from Ag Youth magazine, but would like to congratulate Morgan Martin on showing the Reserve Champion crossbred prospect steer at the Heart of Oklahoma jackpot show this past weekend. He couldn't get around those powerhouse Bonham steers, but Steve told the young lady that...

    Nebraska Cattlemens Classic

What are the dates this year? Need some input on a young Angus bull  being exhibited [on display] when the time comes. He will be displayed by Dan May and maybe a pardner. The calf is a BC Raven out of a sister to Ramblin Fevers mother, which is owned by Dan and one of the McCurrys.

    Jim Williams

I think Jim would compliment you on thinking he was a skinny guy. Jim Williams is as good as it gets. He probably has judged more breeds of cattle than most in his time. He will test your meddle.you need to know your calf.If you have a good one,he will find it too.Who is on the halter means...

    Opinions

This calf looks good...if I were to lightly critisize him,it would appear he has a small cannon bone, which typically means he won't get very big.He will probably finish out in the 1160 to 1220 range.Someone has to win those lightweight classes though. Just a little tougher to make the sale in...

    Opinions on Heifer

I must have missed something in this post. Doesn't it ask what people's opinion was on the heifer? I don't believe he asked for opinions on breeding her.....I'm sorry she is a Heatwave....but she really looks quite good. She looks to be able to rock and roll in most Chi classes about anywhere...

    Money Talks

I think Money Talks has been under utilized myself, including by me. For some reason, their were always some other sexy bull to use. he was used quite successfully by the Gillespie family for a couple years out in Montana.I do know there were some good steers in Indiana,Michigan and Ohio out of...

what is the top shorthorn bull?

Jake's Proud Jazz has proven himself more in the "ring" than some think. I know of two black steers that won big jackpots last year that were Jake's out of Black cows. He is continually proving himself in the commercial bull market. look at the Jungel's bulls in Denver. Several of his calves are...

What's the OLDEST Club Calf Bull on DENVER DISPLAY Anyone Remembers?

Yes, ole Sugar Ray was the talk of the times. Still quite alot of his influence going strong today.I still enjoy listening to Bob talk about Super Mom and how he came to own her, and what convinced him to keep "sugar" as a bull...... I also remember when KB had Habenero out and about along with...

    AWESOME SHOW HEIFER FOR SALE!!!!

Raymond, looks like you have another excellent heifer for sale. Was she reared in the Mitchell area? or has she wondered down from Canada? She ought to be in the "hunt" anywhere, anytime in the "right" hands. Maybe you can get her to Georgia via ole "Shortdawg".
