    TH & PHA Testing

I have two heifers I want to get tested for TH & PHA.  Where are those tests run and the process? I live in Indiana if that matters.  Also need to DNA test one of them for parentage.  What is the process for that?  The cow was AI'ed twice twelve hours apart to Bojo and then Boardwalk.  Ran out...

    cows dead

Let me throw this situation at you.  Wednesday my wife and son came home from getting the bull checked for breeding soundness.  They were gone about two hours.  I was at work in town.  They came home to find a cow down on her side, churning the air with all four legs, and her head arched up. ...

What is your ear tagging method?

This year we started using pink for heifers and blue for bulls.  It makes it a little easier from a distance to sort who is who.  For the past several years we have the calf ID a sequential numbering from year to year in large print in the middle of the tag.  Last one born in 2011 was 46, first...

    Eye Candy

What does Eye Candy have in the way of sons that might breed similar?  Would be nice to hear from aboiut experiences.

    wanted: good show feed?

I also agree, a good feed and priced so you don't have to sell the farm.  Really nice for putting a good fill on heifers.  They have a website.  Call him.  They might have a dealer in your area or you could become one.

    Eye Candy

Thinking about using him on some Sim/Angus cows to increase bone, add hair, clean up the neck and add stoutness.  First, will he do this and second, has any one had problems with "Galloway" hair when using him.  Concerned about a curly haired calf.

    Newborn with Buck Knees

Any ideas what to give a newborn to help with buck knees?  We always give a shot of Bo-Se when they're born and wondered if there's something else to help.  He's pretty bad.  Gets around fine, just looks pitiful standing with front legs curved like an old hay scythe.

    Monoploy Heifers

I have a Headliner x Get It Done yearling I'm thinking about breeding to I-80.  Another Ali son like Smokin' Joe.  Any thoughts?

    Monopoly Money Reports

When your breeding clubby, you're going to have birthing difficulties.  Don't like it, but it comes with the territory.  An abnormal presentation hapens.  It's not the bull or the cows fault.  It can happen with a 50 lb. calf.  i'll try not to let the pull today happen again with this cow...

Any calves this year from I-80? I haven't heard much about him so far

What are your thoughts on I-80 to Headliner and Immortal heifers?  Would you, or wouldn't you?  And if not, who?  Both are decent size heifers weighing 800 lbs. at least and will be bred end of April, first of May.  Will the Heat Wave genetics mess up the Ali side?

    Monopoly Money Reports

Have two Monopoly Money bull calves in the last few days.  IMO they're bigger than Monopoly's.  We don't weigh our calves but both of these are the biggest we've had in the last few years out of a 12 cow herd.  We've had Monopoly, Heat wave 1, Boardwalk, Immortal, Heat wave, Headliner, and these...

What's your most exciting matings coming in 2012?

Most exciting still due is Monopoly Money x Kadabra.  She had a very nice Monopoly 2 years ago that sold for $4000.  I really like Mono Money.  Had our first two highly anticipated today.  A Monopoly x G.D. (Foreplay son) heifer.  Real nice as far as 6 hours old goes, thick, sufficient bone...
