    Crossbreeding

I am not sure what you are wanting to know, but I will jump in. I am not a geneticist, so don't be too harsh on me... (lol) Hybrid vigor is the only free lunch out there...several people and breeds have used this slogan to sell their bulls. Every purebred is slightly inbred. Crossbreeding adds...

Blue Moon Bull of Tim & Trudy Ohlde

Thanks for the clarification, I am interested also to see how he breeds. I did see him, he was easily the best bull there.

sept troubadour bull pic to cut him or to not him that is the???opinions wantd

That is some funny stuff, especially to us oldtimers that were there...I remember buying steers and offered my money back if they did not at least reach 58". If I remember correctly, Sugar Ray had some bigger flushmates that did well as steers... There seems to be some question of straightness...

    Opinions on bull

I don't get why someone would not think he is not masculine enough. Maybe their cattle are not as pretty fronted. I like him. JMO Second on being a sucker for baldies.

You did a good job by your heifer. I hope he does well for you.

Holy cow, tell me that thing is in a game preserve/zoo!!! Lie if you have to... :o

    Bull opinions

My bones are getting too old for the "cocky" look. Much rather have a kid with a sore shoulder from holding a calf's head up than rope burns or worse..I hope the flushmates are as good as he is, if I have the pedigree correct, the girls should be ok too...

Things to thank a Canadian for...

I would personally like to thank Shania Twain (Canadian)...for everything.... <party>...and I would like to thank the Aussies for sending us AC/DC! Thunderstuck even pays homage to Texas... <rock>

Nice calf! May have to get some other people out there with you to get a great pic, he looks really docile... (clapping)

    N-Charge / Flush?

I would think Ildeno also... I now know he is not out of the same cow, but a full brother in blood to Tycoon. Saw Tycoon last fall, loved him. Big boned, big footed, and sound. He looked super for a 6 or 7 year old bull. Wish he was not a PHA carrier. Too many Irish Whiskeys and Ice Picks around...

sept troubadour bull pic to cut him or to not him that is the???opinions wantd

Proves everyone has different experiences with the same bulls, thanks for posting your experience. Not trying to offend, but it is very true some (maybe most) good bulls would be average steers. Steers are so chubby right now, it would be hard for a bull with these genetics to ever be small...

    N-Charge / Flush?

Wouldn't Tycoon be a full sib also? Is N-Charge PHAF?

sept troubadour bull pic to cut him or to not him that is the???opinions wantd

If he is super sound (seen some awful straight Troubadour's, not bashing it takes two to tango), I like him more as a bull. I would test him for TH and keep leaning towards keeping him a bull if he is clean. I just don't know if he has that perfect shoulder and front end for a steer...Love the...

    Cunia Bulls

Thanks vcsf. Been so long ago (college) that I had forgotten that tidbit. You think a lifelong learning process is just re-learning what you forgot from 20 years ago.... (lol)

    Cunia Bulls

I was tired from being at the Shorthorn show in Fort Worth. Just watched and talked to my 12 yr old daughter for three-four hours and talked about cattle and why the second or third place heifer might fit what we do better (club calves). Terrible with names when you ask me details later... ;)...
