Thanks for all the comments. We were weary of just letting them raise the wrong ones as one was actually my uncles and one was mine and we don't always summer them near eachother. We just kept working at it in the chute and with calf claim and they accepted the correct ones last night.

Long story short: Had a cow calve beside one of our PB Angus first calf heifers late last night. Come to find out this morning they got their calves switched and claimed the wrong ones. Now they won't switch to the right ones at all, anyone ever had this happen? Suggestions? Already tried...

What color of calves are you getting out of black females? Have an I80 x Carnac/Full Flush I'm thinking about using him on.

Also just had a Comfort Zone out of a I80 x Carnac/FullFlush. 3 days past and I would guess weighs 70 lbs. The heifer was a show heifer on full feed all last spring/summer too. I'll try to get it weighed later today and a picture in the next couple days. Also calving out quite a few PB Angus...

I've been really impressed by the No Worries calves I have seen, but haven't used him personally...yet.

I'm not sure what happened to 2 & 3. Clone 4 seems to be the hot one now, also saw 6 & 7 should be ready by late spring.

Carpe Diem (Trausch), Red Rock (Lautner), Deadliest Catch (Rodgers), Landshark (Executive Sires). Only have used Carpe Diem personally. Liked both calves, however color pattern mirrored Dam...not guarenteed Hereford markings.

Is she THC or THF? If THF, how about Carpe Diem? I've used him on heifers before and I've heard of quite a few southern guys doing it. I would guess it'd give you a shorthorn looking calf. But if she's THC this suggestion is no good.

For these deals do you have to have the house within a certain short distance, or is there a setup that would work with a house 5 miles away?

Another thing I think should be taken into account. Sometimes I think early interaction with people can be equally important. Two years ago I had a very good steer out of a old show heifer but he was nervous/spooky. His dam is tame as can be, but I didn't spend much time around him till 4-5...

I'll have one in a month and can let you know how it ends up. Gargan was giving me some info last year on some he had/seen. I know he told me one was 90Lbs 7 days late and the rest hadn't been born yet. Maybe he can chime in with some info on how they are progressing.

We've used "Orphan No More" in the past as well.

Didn't think of that one, even have some in the tank.
