    Waukaru Patent 8161

I like the Crooked Post cattle a lot too but for marketability we need a bit of colour for over this side of the world. Are all/or the majority of the Crooked Post cattle dark red in colour?

Hey Duncraggan. Just out of interest what two bulls did you get semen from?

    Waukaru Patent 8161

I agree. If you see an animals head coming towards you - you usually can tell what's coming behind it. I've yet to see a bad animal with a good head!

    Checking Cattle Pictures 2012

Thunder, What is the white bull in your avatar? He looks really impressive good luck to him. I've been meaning to ask you for a while now. Also, were you at the Spry's sale just passed?

    Waukaru Patent 8161

Thanks for all the replies and photos guys. I personally am not a huge fan of the majority of the Waukaru cattle but Patent 8161 has always stood out to me as a good one. The video of him on Youtube suggests he is very thick and muscly, and he seems to walk out well. He also appears to be...

What do you think of this bull calf?

Really nice calf with loads of thickness. Best of luck with him for the future.

    Our girls

Really nice types of heifers good luck to them. How old are they and what are their breeding?

Is this the thickest Shorthorn heifer you've seen?

What I meant is that she is certainly a calf that would turn heads. We definitely don't want or need that sort of muscling in the Shorthorn breed, but perhaps if she was mated to a more moderate type bull the progeny might have a role. The Shorthorn breed is by it's nature a maternal breed...

National Shorthorn Show and Sale (AUS)

Ah don't mind him. There's one in every bag. I like lots 114 and 118. Lot 3 looks good but it's a pity he's not better colour marked.

What breed are these cattle ?

The cattle you are asking about in the video are Parthenaise. They are similar in colouring to Aubracs but are bigger with more expressive muscling. If you google Sansonnet you will find one of the sires that is popular within the breed.

    Ankonian Dynamo Semen.

Ankonian Dynamo Semen. Ankonian Dynamo is a true legend in the Angus breed. He was greatly admired by judges, purebred cattle breeders and commercial breeders alike. He was easily the highest performing bull of his year. He was back to back Grand Champion Bull at the National Western Livestock...

    Best Red Simmental Bull

If you want something totally different that would definitely stamp a type I would recommend Hillcrest Champion for an outcross in North America. His calving difficulty is slightly above the breed average but I have never heard of anyone having problems with him. He really is a breed changing...
