I second the fish however I haven't used them in winter. They have some little ones that look like moss and they suck the bottom and edges of the tubs. Those are great. Of all the water tubs I have used the best ones for not growing stuff are blue barrels cut in half. The white ones grow a lot...

As a horse person too, it is great to see it open back up! Since they shut em down prices for good show horses has hit the crapper. What was 10k horses barely bring 2k. Now that some of these backyard worthless horses that people can't afford have a market. And not much is on the market good...

Where is your friend located and what type of sheep is he feeding? I have started looking into some alternative feeds and they happened to be on my list. How much does he feed? I would be concerned with cattle choking on them since they don't understand the concept of chew before you swallow...

Spray it. We used that in the living quarters of our trailer and it made a huge difference. If you just want to keep sound down use rboard but I assume your looking to keep warm/cold. The spray makes a mess, but if you want to cover.the walls it is really easy to shave it down flat.
