The pictures are making me like this guy more and more! I was just too chicken to use a young bull! What are the birthweights and calving ease reports?

    Twins from different bulls

It can happen...it would be the same as putting 2 diff straws of semen at one time...both bulls covered her while she was viable and they each got their fair share!  Pics?

    animal science universities

Yes! I had always wanted to go to kstate, but I knew it was "the one" after a visit! It sounds super corny but there really is the feel.  You will know what's right.  I can't picture myself doing anything other than an sci...people always ask me what else I would like to do, but nothing ever...

    AI'ing in this Weather

6am in single digit temps with about 8" of snow on the ground...very first time having something ai'd. All that and plenty of problems in the process creating what my breeder calls the bovine immaculate conception!

    animal science universities

As a Kansas state class of 2016 member :) I gotta say give us a look! My visits have been filled with great people and it has a great small community feel... Scholarships are great, but look at the total cost of all the schools after any scholarships.  It is cheaper, by around $5000,for me(in...

    Washing white calves

Sullivans bright lights...scrub it in until the purple tint is gone and let it set for a couple minutes before rinsing.  I've used the oxiclean laundry spray with much luck too!  You also may want to try listerine or some good ole white touch up :)

Anyone ever successfully treat a calf with tetanus??

It is important to remember vaccines aren't a guarantee that your animal won't get an illness.  They are only 95% or so effective.  Having received vaccines, it can make the illness not as severe or more treatable.  I know this from experience with west Nile in sale horse

    Artifical cow

Actually I did see in a beef magazine(I think that's where) where a university had developed an artificial back half of a cow for learning the feel of internal anatomy and practice preg checking. The instructor could control how everything felt by air pressure. I'll get a link to it...

Quotes your vet just loves to hear:

    Calf with Big Knee

I would almost guarantee this is septic arthritis or an injury. I would get your vet out because it has probably been this way for a while if he's 2 months old. We always use label directions of nuflor gold for septic arthritis with great luck...as per my VET'S instructions! That la200 dose...

    grizzly?

Thanks guys, but we have decided against him because he is horned. We don't know much about the cows background, especially with the hereford, and don't want to have to deal with dehorning and then selling a horned calf. What about longs shear pleasure? We do not want to go fullblood sim.

    grizzly?

How are grizzly's birthweights? I am talking about the half sim not the new hereford. Looking at using him on a second calf hereford Angus cow?

    Problems Problems Problems......?

Okay, putting this out here first! Every calf I have gotten has something wrong...all but 2 were from contracted tendons. So...I have experience here Every single time that calf eats(I assume bottle baby) make it get up and walk around for the bottle. This may take a couple people if they are...

Stupid cows what goes through their heads

Not really stupid, but when my cow gets out, she will come down to the house and stare in the Windows until she gets noticed. I just weaned her first calf last night and the cow is ten times more upset than the calf. He is already shut up and loving life not having to compete for grain. She's...

show steer clip art/ outline/ silhouette???

If you are handy with photo editing software, you can do them fairly easily yourself. I like Microsoft picture it, but that's mainly because its all I have so I know it well. I just take a picture I like, cut out the calf or whatever, then fill the new cut out calf with a solid color. you can...
