Hauling MO to IL, any new laws?

check with your vet, but you might have to get trich tests if either is a bull I know MO auctions require breeding bulls to have them even instate bulls.

    prolapysed uterus..

Prolapses=culled cow! Most of the time they are genetic...working for a vet he never ever recommends keeping one because they almost always do it again, if they can make it stay in without stitches all the time. Don't keep the calf either....again they are usually fairly genetic! Not necessarily...

    Bottle Calf

Just don't feed it more than one bottle twice a day! They will eat as long as bottle is in front of them, but that doesn't mean they are hungry! You can over feed them really easily and kill them...seen it too many times! Stick to the two bottles and you will be set! A friend of ours had a few...

    PETA is at it again!!

They tried to get one or two in Illinois too, but our state legislature did something right for a change and shut them down...they used the excuse that since the cows didn't have family they would be like really close friends.

    Calf Rolling Rear Pasterns

I am gonna say you have a set of contracted tendons. They dont sound too bad compared to some.  You will have to get that kid up and make sure it walks around everyday the more the better! Even if you have to help it get around by holding it up you have to do it or they will never get better...

    calving ease bulls

Here is a pic of her October calf to doc holliday. He has grown a lot since the pic. He is very stout and muscular compared to his momma. I think he is going to be sold since feeder calves are over $2 a pound this week near me.

    calving ease bulls

Here is a pic of my cow. I will get one of her calf up too. This is from a few months ago, she has put on quite a bit of weight since then...I know she's ugly but you're always proud of your first calf no matter what they are :) she turned 3 today as well.

    calving ease bulls

How was babe Ruth calving wise or even back to sunseeker? Did you like their calves? Hair doesn't matter for me, I will only show it once or twice at county shows unless it is some phenomenal calf.

    calving ease bulls

Well, pedigree is pretty much unknown besides she is a Angus x hereford. I highly doubt they were registered stock-long story short this was my free bottle calf with contracted tendons that was most likely a freemartin a couple years ago. But, hey it got me in beef and I wouldn't trade my start...

    calving ease bulls

I am looking into my next semen purchase. I am looking for calving ease but not sacrificing quality. I feel like I need to add length, mass, muscle, and frankly some "pretty" to my cows. My only opposition would be to a charolais, due to calving ease. I'm not too particular in my...

    Lowrider

Can we get pics on Lowrider? I love my doc holliday half blood and just used my last straw of semen for a full sib to the bull calf I have. So I am looking for my next selection. Is semen available if so where and how much? Ps. My calf has not been cut and I am open to selling him at weaning.

    Bottle Calf

thank you!!!! I am just now raising my first calf that isn't abottle baby and i agree that most people overfeed!  Stay at what you're giving her and no blanket-that will crush the hair down and make her colder(it will push all the warm air she has held in with the hair out and will do no good. ...

calf born last night won't stand

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.... Follow your vets intructions exercise that leg and the rest of that calf! Make that calf get up at least once a day! the more the better! Make it stand (with your help of course) to eat. I would try to see if it can walk while you hold it up.  If you let her lay down...

Team of Judges Better Than One Judge

We do this at most of the larger, regional or national horse shows.  We take 2-3 judges. They each take their own individual placings. those are then totaled to get an overall placing.  We usually do the most points as the winner.  It doesn't really get lengthy anymore than it would with one...
