    how quick?

So I bred my heifer last year for ax fall calf. She calved last Thursday. With my amazing luck she had a bull calf. So my question is how quick do you think I can get it to 400 pounds? The heifer is smaller framed about lowline size which is why I chose to breed her doc holliday the lowline bull...

    Sullivan's Sale Results

They're rounding to make it sound better...rounding to the nearest 10000. Sorry guys but if I spent that on a bull every stinking female would be getting papers and he would have a lot more calves than that and he would semen everywhere...ain't fair to him to not get to do his job butg on a...

    Calming a calf

Idk if this works on cattle but I know of people who get triptopan...the stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy...for horses that stress out. The people I have seen use it it definitely helped a lot. And if you need to keep giving it its a lot more legal than ace if you would ever be somewhere...

Max E Glo (stabilized rice bran-meal) any users?

I am feeding a friends sheep for Louisville right now and he has me giving them 2 oz per head. It definitely firms up loins and I think the fat isn't as splotchy so to speak...no lumps. I am planning on using it on my lambs next year. I would think it would work the same...but its a lil pricey...

County bred, born, & raised rules

I know this is a bit bigger scale thing but I think it still applies. In Illinois at state fair open and Jr shows, We have a land of Lincoln class. To determine eligibility, show secretaries simply check the registration papers and see the location of the breeder and the current owner. Now for...

What is the longest you've had a cow go over due?

Right now I have a heifer that was due September 29. She is ai'd to lowline bull doc holliday. No clean up bull. I am getting a vet to check her because I am getting worried. But she hasn't had mucous and still needs more milk in my opinion before she goes

    Barn Camera's

This would prolly be super expensive but I saw a commercial a few times. I think ADT security has a system where you can have a camera and look at it on a computer. I would say for a large distance away that would be one of a few choices

    weird question

The horse blankets will work if you put together a neck wrap of sorts...neck sweat minus the sweat. I would try the numerous solutiomns for getting gum out of hair...like chocolate and what not. But keeping them away from the tree. Till it stops would be easier...if you haven't had the problem...

"The DOL assumes that youth under age 16 lack the 'cognitive ability' to herd animals on horseback, use battery-powered drills, put hay bales on a bale elevator or use any equipment except if powered by hand or foot." Pretty sure by then I had moved more hay, rode more horses, worked with more...

What is th cheapest calf that you have done the best with in the show ring with?

It's great seeing that you don't have to be rich to buy a winner. I haven't bought a calf yet...reject bottle babes not the best in the ring but won't let you down in showmanship.

    Fenece Feeders?

Sydell equipment has some big o.es that hang on fence. Dimensions on their biggest is 26 1/4x17 1/4x7 1/4 in front and 13 1/4 in back. They mostly have sheep equipment so these are classified as poly feeders but I think this what you're looking for. They are $55 though.
