    I would use either the 14% or the 16%.  The 18 and 20% are probably for dairy calves.

    I think the results are the same, but even if they are lower with synched heats, I can get a more cows in heat and more ET calves by synching the recips.

    in addition to big middles, they calves can make loose droppings when on wet silage.  Watch how much you use

    I am pretty sure your concerns are justified.  I think cold weather means more feed and less excercise.  I know I always get along bettter when the grass gets green.

    Just had a WA calf.  Pretty hard pull, still down, but alive!  I will post latter when/if he gets up.

    He is a good looking bull.  I never worry that much about bone as long as they are adequate.  In fact I would rather be moderate than heavy, as I am concerned about birth weight, etc.

    corn silage can be used to put more middle on calves, or sometimes when they are off feed and wont eat your regular grain/hay feed
