    What About Total Solution?

Great bull for heifers, they are a little late bloomers. We have raised a few and shown with great results. They may not sell too well as babies but if you have a late fair these guys reallly come onstrong in the last 60 days. Have never had trouble calving and they have been vigorous babies as...

    Vegan lifestyle on Oprah today!

I watched the show and didn't see anything wrong with it. The lady from cargill was impressive and really knew her job. The point the gentlemen kept making about small farmers/ranchers who reallly care about their animals was a plus for our industry. Hopefully more people will seek out and buy...

    Going at it too hard?

Never was a big fan of implants in our show cattle, but IMO you should really pour the coals to that guy. Give him all the hay he wants and steadily increase the feed. I agree you must know his weight and adjust accordingly. You should have him at finished weight at least 30n days prior to your...

    Steer wont eat!!!

Limit the amount and access to the hay, it will take a few days but he'll get hungary and go to the feed. Some calves are not exposed to feed as babys and it may take awhile to get aclimated to it. IMO

    cost of embyos

Well its funny you asked, lately we've been thinkin of flushing our good HW x Chill Factor cow and have even talked to Donor Solutions. Personnally I can't justify paying 5oo to 1500 for embryos and havin a 1 in 3 average. So we'll flush our own and hope for the best. Also we know what works on...

    HELP with white hair!!!!

Try bedding on cornstalks, it really helps keep them clean and the natural corn starch helps keep them bright white.

    MTG

We have used it to grow switches and on wounds. Also works on spots gouged by clippers. I dont see why it wont work on leg hair. Roto brush works just as well.

    Alfalfa hay

Save it for show day to fill them out. A little flake and add water and watch them fill out. Feeding every day will result in loose stools, I mean shooting acrosss the pen loose.

    Steer opinions please.

Nice calf, if he were mine I'd switch to a Barley base feed to smooth out the back fat. Pour it to him and go in about 1380. Good liuck

    Prolapsed Bull Calf

HAd one last year, sowed in a purse string, gave iodine shots around anus to create scar tissue. It worked for a while but ended up butchering him at about 800lbs. Meat was no good. IMO save yourself the trouble and expense. If it happened to us again he would have gone to woods and put him and...
