    Heff Bull ???????

There's something to that.  I got antsy and put some semen of a 914 son in a heifer and got a 62# heifer, while my buddy up north using the same bull had a hundred birthweights ranging mostly in the 90-100# range.  I got nervous after I looked at all the BW of that bull's progeny (after having...

    Heff Bull ???????

I watched Houston; I was struck by how the grand steer always seemed to have perfect foot placement and how he just seemed to walk into it on his own.  Almost as if the steer knew on his own exactly where to place his feet when they came to a stop. Now, whether that was trained into him, or just...

Distributor told me it was the reserve who was sired by Hef, and this one was also out of a heifer.  Here's a picture of the reserve at San Antonio.

    Heff Bull ???????

The 2014 Houston Grand Champion steer is supposed to be a Rapid Rewards bull x HW; Rapid Rewards is by Hef out of a Yahtzee female.  I haven't been able to find Hef, either, so had the same questions as you.  Here is Rapid Rewards, he is available through Genesource.  Interestingly enough, the...

Wrangler Cooley Royce Ledger Full Throttle 914, if you don't mind the expense You're in Tx, I think, and Bovine Elite carries all but the 914 which is a rare one you'll have to do some digging to find.  I think Riverdale has some for $300/unit. Don't dismiss Royce after seeing his pic on...

Charolais heifer- is she worth hauling around?

Some things also to think about .... Something you may or may not want to consider in the Maine breed.....you start flushing you are going to get females (you always get what you DON'T want, after all).  You cross any Maine with your char, you automatically have a paper-able percentage female...

Charolais heifer- is she worth hauling around?

Did you see my post about Full Throttle in the other thread asking about maternal charolais bulls? Also, a little research assignment here....  Go find out the pedigree of OBG Nancy that stormed the Charolais purebred rings all last year, both here and in Canada.  She's a Firewater, but look at...

    Embryo Transfer Partnership

First and foremost you need to take a good hard look at those cattle destined to be recips and see if they are good candidates for that.  It is possible that those Heatwave progeny may be a little much for 2nd calf heifers to handle.  Who bears responsibility in the event of a hard pull where...
